So I haven't written a thread for ages, however this is developing as we speak and as I am in Venezuela ,I thought why not.
There are huge opposition marches throughout Venezuela, most notably in Caracas.
They are protesting because they want a date to start collecting signatures for the second part of the referendum to remove Maduro.
Sounds complicated, sure, nothing is ever simple here.....

Here is a little diagram to help

They are currently on stage two but the government will not give them a date to legally start collecting .

At the moment the protests are peaceful but due to government interference I have a feeling that will change.

The national guard have been stopping buses of protesters from entering Caracas, tunnels are blocked etc. Journalists have been deported upon arriving from their various countries .

People are walking in

This could be a day in history for the people of Venezuela September 1st 2016...However I dont think the government will just roll over peacefully.

Will keep updating with pictures and news throughout the day...

These protests are calling for her removal? I thought she got impeached. She won the popular vote in the election, how do I know what they are protesting, can't see their signs.

Wow, be careful my friend. That many people gathered doesnt take much to explode.

This is a perfect example of what happens under socialist ideologies.

I am glad to see that this is a mass of people out to get things changed, and not a bread line.

Are you thinking of the President of Brazil?

Indeed, I will be careful, the people have had enough. Everyone, except for the most die hard Chavaz fanatics have had enough. The minimum salary (which most people are on) only works out at $20 a month. I spend now ,due to inflation, about $50 dollars a week and thats only the basics for 2 people. You can get regulated products, but you literary have to wait inline all day, for some people though, they have to or they starve. Socialism will never work on a grand scale. The poor ,unfortunately at the moment, need the governments food or they die, hence an easy way to control but they have had enough..

Even the Native Indians are walking from the rain-forest because the government is giving their land to the Chinese to mine..

So its probably the CIA meddling in both then.

Is this being called the Latin Spring?

Although, I dont doubt CIA involvement (they have their grubby little hands in every pie) Chavez and his government were only for the poor people, now you may say , thats fair enough , they have been persecuted against for years, however just giving people food is not helping them. They will still be poor, with low education and they need to rely on the government for help. Thats the whole point , keep them stupid and needy and they remain loyal. However the corruption of the top government officials is so rife.....They have stolen billions and sold so much of Venezuela to the Chinese.
The middle class knew this all along, however the poor were blind due to state propaganda and the freebies they received .

Now though they are waking up and they have had enough..... Time will tell but a change is needed , hopefully without too much bloodshed

Looks like they are all there in the town square. If that many are peeved, its surely because they are tired of their government going over budget and making the people pay for the enormous interest on the gynormous debt through austerity measures like in Europe. The same everywhere, governments are off the rails when it comes to spending other peoples money.

Go revolution.

Update...

Few incidents reported so far. Starting to be a few more as evening draws near
However in Maracay, there is a large group of thugs on bikes, that are protected by the government called the collective. They are riding round robbing random people at will... I will see if I have a link....
Thugs on bikes

This type of lawlessness is allowed by the government as it is against the opposition ... Video in link
