Kenai Walmart evacuated, reason not released.

The Kenai Walmart on the Kenai Spur Highway was evacuated this morning around 10:15am.

Employees and customers have been evacuated from the store. Walmart says the building will be closed for an undetermined amount of time while the store is examined.

The reason for the evacuation has not been released.

Similarly, two Anchorage stores were evacuated earlier this morning from bomb threat calls to police. One store was Target in South Anchorage and the other was Walgreens in Midtown. Police say the threats appear to be false, which is a felony offense. There is no evidence if these evacuations relate to the one here at the Walmart in Kenai

I am in town right now and the entire Safeway parking lot is blocked off too, I'm not sure if that building was evacuated as well.

I just happen to be stuck in town for the next few hours with my skateboard. I might ride over to WalMart to see if I can see anything unusual.

I am currently at mcdonalds which is only 2-3 blocks from the WalMart, and right across the street from Safeway...a few cops driving around too.

Its probably nothing but this is kind of odd for this town.

I'll ride over there just so I can post whatever I see on ATS..if my phone doesn't die ill get pictures.

According to my confidential informant, scientists have identified a large underground anomaly running through that area which they believe may be developing rift in the earth's crust.

Keep moving in a direction away from the rift; they don't know when it will reach the surface, or even if it will. I believe Trump will issue a Twitter comment on this event later this evening.

Hey rez, so it actually turned out the poster above you was correct! That's why it took me so long to respond. I was caught in the rift. Didn't know where to go until messiah trump issued directions on how to survive via twitter.....

In all seriousness, It was In fact another bomb threat. The store reopened later that day and I haven't heard anything else about it.

I am curious to know who was making bomb threats though? I wonder if it was just stupid pranksters? Or someone actually dangerous?

Not this time, dang it. I kind of wanted to be part of a catastrophe of some sort

It is always a rush when a big event is being followed live on ATS...ive been lucky to catch most of them.

The store reopened near noon after police investigated the building and found no explosives. Charles Crowson with Corporate Walmart Media Relations…

So just some angry customer or worker called in a threat probably.
