Nice, they can make them now cheap and decent.

I have a 196? Danelectro (Silvertone)

Looks like this one. Amongst some other weirdo basses in my collection.

Looks nice. Can you give us a bit more info?

The reflection off the fretboard makes the fretboard look quite flat. Is it just a trick of the light?

Is it heavier than the Ibanez or does the body 'fit' better.

Also, the Ukelele looks good as well!

PS love the framed pix.

for sure trick of the light.
it is much lighter than her ibanez. that damn thing is heavy.
the neck just feels good in my hand. i knew right away.
i went there thinking i was going to buy an ibanez g200 because it is light and played well. i spotted this though and that was it. just feels good.

i dont play the uke much. at this point is more for decoration than anything. my daughter messes with it every now and again.

thanks on the pics. i change them around a lot but i am on a faust kick so he stays for a while

Yeah, go with the instrument that you just feel right about, every time!

One of the bassplayers in one of my bands had an electric fretless upright bass (hand built by a company called Fretted Instrument Design in Australia).

He made a wearable pivot/sling for it and would play it, slung, like a regular bass guitar (it was nearly half again as long as a regular bass but solid body, so just as thick as a std bass). It looked & sounded great.

We played stuff that was a bit like Yes or Emmerson Lake & Palmer (we were always getting those comparisons) but because of the bass, we were always being described as "Progressive Jazz" and kept getting Jazz festival gigs from our agent.

MANGO WOOD!!! Haha! I picked up one of these at a GC when I was in Florida. It just looks like it came from Florida. You're right about it, too. Darn thing plays pretty well for such a low price. The unfinished maple neck is fast. Now, one of these days I'll get a Billy Sheehan model when I have enough cables for one.
