So when your attempt at demonizing a man for making a terrible mistake back in the 40's that he publicly owned up to on more than one occasion and expressed deep regret for does not wash, you simply resort to spewing vitriol instead. Classy.

Now tell us how Trump is a white supremacist racist.

You gotta come stronger than that... each one of those points can be easily dissected...

When it became politically beneficial for him he "changed"; didn't effect his voting record tho did it?

The NAACP disagrees. Someone already posted that he was honored by the NAACP in his passing, and that they found his votes to be "100% in line with the N.A.A.C.P.'s position on the thirty-three Senate bills they evaluated." in 03-04.

Yeah, he was apparently quite misguided in years past, but he eventually came around to some common sense. Clearly you're not as forgiving as the NAACP.

You need to do your homework. He WAS a proud member. We in WV tried everything we could to get rid of him!

In 1997, Byrd told an interviewer he would encourage young people to become involved in politics but also warned, "Be sure you avoid the Ku Klux Klan. Don't get that albatross around your neck. Once you've made that mistake, you inhibit your operations in the political arena."[22

The biggest problem with racism is that people don't even know when they are being racists because it is ingrained in their own mind that it isn't racist, it's just fact to them.

The same can be said for people not being able to recognize racism in other people.

Why would I tell you that? I don't know the man. Do you? He might be a racist; lots of people might. I don't presume to know the inner thoughts of strangers. I know what my father thought of him...but he knew him. I do not.

First and foremost, Trump is a showman. All politicians are, naturally, but he's not a politician. He is literally an actor, a performer. Anyone who believes for one second that what he or any of the other candidates say on camera is actually representative of their innermost thoughts needs a foot up his or her ass...and a serious reality check. Everything that comes out of their mouths is for a specific purpose...even "candid" moments are largely contrived.

So no...I don't feel that I, or anyone else who is not actually Donald Trump, am qualified to speak for him as to what his true position regarding racial and sexual orientation issues may or may not be. I don't have a horse in this race, so you're wasting your energy attempting to bait me. I simply feel that it is disrespectful and shameful to speak ill of the dead...they are not here to defend themselves, and it disgusts me to see people stooping to that level just to be able to have the last word.

I don't know you, and obviously we do not agree, but if you died and someone started talking smack about your personal beliefs as if they actually had one shred of a clue what you thought or believed, I'd tell them the same thing. I simply feel that it is unjust, and that never sits well with me.

Guys it's ok that he was a racist because he was a D. Same with Lyndon Johnson and Harry Reid and
Joe Biden and so on and so forth.

Problem is when they do look into what he actually did it makes hillary look like crap for calling him her "mentor".
Dude is trash and it is bizarre to see people defend someone who hated and advocated killing black people in america.

You are right. Democrats lie. So do Republicans. So does everyone else, at some point in all their trips around the Sun.

What was the purpose of pointing out the color of the family pet? I mean, obviously it's blatant race baiting but aside from stirring the sh!t pot, what was your point? I have a black dog...does that mean I'm not a racist?

Four of my black neighbors drive white cars and three of them own white dogs. Does that mean they're not racist either? I also own a white dog. Does that mean I'm racially confused?

I also have a cat who is a genetic chimera...therefore I must support eugenics. My mother had a poodle who was a hermaphrodite, and she declined the surgery to remove either sex organs and instead referred to him as the gender of which he exhibited the most traits. Well hot damn...my Mom must have been pushing a transgender agenda. Wtf, Mom????

I could do this for days...just depends on how ridiculous you want to get. You could always come back and tell me that I'm wrong, give an argument that your point only applies to the racial arena. Then I could tell you that well, by saying that you are yourself being racist...and so on and so on, ad infinitum. The absurdity of such a correlation is truly astonishing. The baiting, however, is not.

Why y'all care so much about the black vote? Let them keep voting for the big D while they rot away in their ghettos. Who cares?

Just wait until this is brought to the attention of Black Lives Matter, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the NAACP. Hillary Clinton will catch hell! (They'll all still vote for her though. It's the Stockholm Syndrome at work.)

voting for Hillary is not Stockholm syndrome....might want to look up that definition....it applies to people that have been under extreme psychological stress when they have been held hostage.

I like how he tries to say he was only in for one year. BUT

Democrat United States Senator Robert C. Byrd was a recruiter for the Klan while in his 20s and 30s, rising to the title of Kleagle and Exalted Cyclops of his local chapter. After leaving the group, Byrd spoke in favor of the Klan during his early political career. Though he claimed to have left the organization in 1943, Byrd wrote a letter in 1946 to the group's Imperial Wizard stating "The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia." Byrd attempted to explain or defend his former membership in the Klan in his 1958 U.S. Senate campaign when he was 41 years old.[1]

they are all racist....when trump casino bosses ordered all black people off of the floor and sent them to the back rooms when trump and Ivanka walked through, that's pretty much racist.....Trump was fined 200,000 dollars by the new jersey gambling commission for having all black dealers removed from the card tables, because big spenders asked him to...that's racism

I am just stunned to see how many members here make excuses for this person.
He was in an organization which at the time killed black people. That stink does not wash off.

The black community continuing to vote for Democrats is the very definition of Stockholm syndrome. Democrats have held the black community hostage for 50 years despite all the empirical data showing the policies have done zilch to improve the conditions in the black community. Yet, the black community continues to vote Democrats 9 out of 10 times. I don't know what else you could call it.... it certainly isn't rational or logical.
