Hello ATS friends

I began flying about 13 months ago after I went up with a friend in his LSA and fell in love with aviation on the spot. Decided shortly after that I wanted to pursue my Private Pilot's License. I did all my training in a PA28-161 Piper Warrior and then once I passed my check ride I moved on to a Cessna 172L Skyhawk. I flew all around New England and logged landings in over 20 airports! Recently I've moved to Iowa and I'm now flying a Cessna 172SP Skyhawk.

Flying has transformed from a hobby to a passion and every time I go up in the air I find myself enjoying it more and more.

Over the past year myself (or my passengers) have taken quite a handful of pictures while out flying and I thought I would share some with ATS. Some of them are poor quality due to cell phone issues and I do apologize for that.

I bet a portion of you folks may find these boring but I'm hoping at least some of the aviation guys will appreciate them and understand my love of being in the air. I'll be adding more as I dig them up from memory cards, old phone, etc.

Thanks for looking!

I used to love flying the 172. It was such a fun little airplane, very forgiving. Thanks for sharing, and keep having fun.

It's honestly hard to choose which I like more (the Warrior or 172), but I gotta say you can't beat the view from the 172. It's boring looking out the window at the top of the wing!

Is the CT River picture (Western MA) of the Oxbow in Northampton??

I love the Quabbin shot; I've been there many times.

Very close! But no, this picture is actually about a mile or two upstream on the Hadley/Northampton line. The bridge in the photo is The Coolidge Bridge - Rt 9.

We lived up in that neck of the woods many, many, many, many years ago. My brother is from Westover.

Here is another of Quabbin. It's a gorgeous area, I've been many times myself (hiking/fishing).

Wow small world. I grew up in the one the towns that abuts Westover. C-5s shook the house quite often.

Summer fishing and winter eagle watching. :-)

I can't provide any proof but I was told there is an underwater base in Quabbin. (Tee hee!)

Also, I used to know someone whose family was moved out many decades ago when she was a child to make way for the flooding of the area to create the reservoir.

Thanks for the extra picture!

Those are some great pics, thank you for posting them. They reminded me of when I was a kid and used to fly with my Dad, he had a Beechcraft Sundowner. It was a ton of fun, especially when he'd let my fly. I sure miss those days and him, but great memories, there's nothing like flying.
