I think I found another, "brighter" version. Pay close attention to the end of this version.

this is something I'd bet an Art School student did for a project.

It may amuse you to know that the person that created this "alien interview" video has previously worked with a group of art school students to produce a well-known UFO hoax.

I'm surprised no-one has posted the name of that person in this thread yet.

It isn't hard to connect him to this video.

I've asked him to clarify which software he used for this particular video.

Well, I'm certainly not in any position to claim that it's a fake, even if I thought it was, as I stated in my first post on the thread. It seems to me that if it were fake, whoever made the video must have had a professional background in the movie industry, because it certainly looks very real to me. But, as I said earlier, I am not qualified in any way to discern that.

Like I stated, there was only one thing about it that didn't add up for me, but there are enough plausible explanations for it that ameliorate that particular concern, which was exactly the feedback I was looking for.

I'm a bit puzzled by your last statement there...are you dismissing me as a "debunker" or something? If so, you are woefully misguided. I am about the last person who fits that M.O. around here. But I will pursue answers to things that do not jibe with me in any topic of interest, not just this one.

Questioning things that don't immediately make sense is not the same thing as debunking something. It is simply critical thinking and the desire to understand.

You're right though, it does provoke interesting conversation. It's good to see people being open minded about the subject for a change, too.

Well, if he's using some kind of translator device to speak, there would be a delay between his words and the words that are being translated. I think that could account for the discrepancies .

Can you expound upon what about his speech seemed more 2016? I wasn't alive in 1964 but people who were sound pretty much like everyone else when they speak.

Well...look at those enormous eyes. Bright light would probably blind a being like that. If it is anything like the accounts of the J-rod EBE from years ago, they would have confiscated his/her clothing, up to and including any protective gear that might have been used. They allegedly kept the J-rod in very dim light as well, and he also had very large eyes that did not blink. His eyes would have been severely vulnerable to light...he allegedly had no eyelids and typically wore protective gear.

Please stop throwing the CGI term about like candy.. it discredits your debunk.

As this is obviously a puppet.. if it got up and walked.. or moved anything other than it's head i'd be way more receptive.. but i love puppetry.. and this fella's a rigged animatronic puppet.

Because CGI is more practical for most people and only requires a reasonable home PC if you don't mind rendering times that would be unacceptable in a professional production. If you're a student, the software is cheap(er), while if you're a pirate the software is free. The internet is full of excellent rigging and animation tutorials that even an idiot like me managed to follow with a surprising level of success. All you need is a computer, a microphone, and far too much spare time on your hands.

Puppetry simply requires a lot more resources, including space to build it, space to store it, space to film it, lighting, camera equipment, etc.

So, logic suggests that CGI is the most likely default method for creating the various modern hoaxes floating around. That doesn't mean it isn't a puppet, but it's entirely valid for someone to start from the premise that it's CGI.

Also, watching it again, it still feels much more CGI than puppet.

Not that any of it really matters. The video is almost certainly a fake, however it was created.

Isn't the term EBE for extraterrestrial biological entity? I thought that's how the government refers to them now, as well as many in the UFO community, but I may be wrong about that. It doesn't seem a stretch in that case that other media would use that identifier as well.

The voice though...not sure what to think about that. That particular voice quality is strikingly similar to a lot of "creature" voices in movies and TV shows...the way we've come to expect that a monster might sound.

===

The movement is great but it wasn't done in Maya or Alias
because of the unnatural blooming on the shoulders and head
caused NOT by overhead lighting but rather by bad diffusion
as hard light goes to softer edges. That's typical of Blender
and Lightwave. (cheaper/faster 32-bit rendering vs
slow full 64-bit rendering causing striations on edges
or a bad convolution filter for the edge blurring)

The mouth movement was time synchronized
correctly but when the video is brightened and
zoomed-in, the movement itself is simply vertical
with no advanced individual musculature movement
at the sides of the mouth and on the chin
and upper lips that I see when large teams
at say ILM (Industrial Light and Magic)
or Image Engine do their lip and
mouth syncing.

The voice-over is fake --- All you have to do is
speed it up by 50% to 200% in steps of 25% and
then raise it's pitch and you will see just how
human it is.

---

The message content though....that makes
me curious as to which documentation was
perused to arrive at the conclusions/answers
outlined in the video.

That sounds just a little too close for comfort
at our reality which means the 3D artist(s)
who made this video got certain documents
from somewhere which means their employer
is more on the black budgetary side.

I'd like to ask the writer where he got his/her
information from for the script....!!!!!

I have read enough of your posts here to know just how open minded you are. I suppose I thought that I would finally strike up a conversation with you, as it seems we are on the same page when it comes to such things, certainly this one anyway.

That one to me I feel is MUCH MORE BELIEVABLE
because of industry training. The numbers on the
screen of that video are called Timecode and their
shape and placement is SPECIFIC to a type of video
playback system called Betacam SP of either the
Sony or AMPEX brands. The leftside text is from
a text overlay system called a Chyron which was
added AFTER the original recording/playback.
(probably by the original TV station/producer
who got the video as government agencies
during those late 1980's didn't usually have
Chyrons but they DID have Betacam SP decks!)

AND the movements of that alien is VERY REALISTIC
and the shine on the it's head's surface is very indicative
of a very real alien or a masterfully built puppet!
In fact the voice-over DEFINITELY INDICATES TO ME
on that video it is NOT SCRIPTED !!!!!!! That one
was a real-world environment in my opinion !!!!!!

-----

Today's interview just REEKS of recent
Vancouver Film School animation graduate
trying his/her best but NOT putting in the
effort to get the LITTLE THINGS that make
3D animation TRULY realistic looking!
Bad lighting, excessive contrast ratio,
crushed blacks, vertical-only mouth
movement, terrible voice-over
It's not bad for a 1st year student
but IT WILL NOT GET YOU HIRED
at Lucasfilm's ILM or Image Engine !!!!

The audio FLANGING EFFECT really made
me think of teh FAKENESS of the video.
It really annoyed me becuase of how
many times it's used in commercials,
TV shows and general audio fakery!

Actually the message content reminded me of Conversations with God series by Donald Walsh. At least in the idealism of everyone is you, just living on different perspectives of space and time. You are me and I am you...we both were hitler and mother Theresa. We have been the elite and the downtrodden. We are the God of our universe.

Fascinating theory, but that is what I had first thought when he described his version of the meaning of life.

Eh. Why anyone would interrogate an alien in stereotypical movie fashion is beyond me.

And to think humans would evolve into something so ugly I cannot believe.

Their imagination.

Also, it states to be our evolutionary descendant yet late on in the vid claims our species will be destroyed. Hmm?
