It's strange how the number unique Alien cases has plummeted to the point where all this stuff from 8-10 years ago is being recycled. The ATS thread today about Buildings on Mars, is just a regurgitation of an image that ATS discussed in 2008.

Maybe we've entered a quiet time. Or, the aliens decided to get out of here before World-War-III begins.

It's amazing. Post iPhone, no ET videos. But tons of police beatdowns.

Of all the so called "alien" videos that I have viewed, the ONLY one that mystifies me, and as far as I know has not been thoroughly debunked, is the "Skinny Bob Alien":

It has been discussed thoroughly on ATS many times, but I have yet to be convinced that it is fake. Go ahead, flame me- I am wearing fire-retardant jammies.

If you can watch Lord of the Rings and tell that Gollum is fake, you should be able to tell that this alien is fake as well. Its movements have that animated quality.

Now throw it on a table, hack it up and pull organs out. You will make millions. Get Johnathan Frakes to narrate.

Fake imo. Why would a grey, wich can communicate telepathically, have vocal cords? Makes no sense in this case. Humans can receive telepathic communications too, but not all humans can send them out..

Just didn't appear to be GCI to me, but I was wrong.

One would also think that the alien would be a little more articulate with his words, lol.

yeah i gotta agree skinny bob and the alien 'sound test's' other vid do look convincing yet my feeling is they were probably made as part of some up and coming very talented CV portfolio in the CGI field.

And as far as i know i agree i have not seen them debunked or know who made them. very cool work imo,IF there CGI

CGI is not my area of expertise though. but the OP vid? CGI.

Honestly, it looks kind of cool, but the way they are laughing, seems like it's probably a fake, some sort of puppet or something.

Did you notice how 3 minutes in it says that individuals violated the treaty, meaning that they were caught, yet the footage was not destroyed, which it absolutely would be in a case of top secrecy? Also note that the narrator has an omniscient viewpoint, somehow knowing that the treaty was amended after the incident. Fake stories always have this sort of thing.

Not to mention that it looks like animation with a grainy filter applied.

Stevie wonder would be able to tell this was CGI.

I have been involved in several lengthy discussions re: Skinny Bob here on ATS, and it always comes back to the same thing, people claiming it is CGI because it looks like CGI. Well, replicate it using CGI and then let's continue the discussion.

This is not fake. A while back someone with experience in doing ops for movies said that it would take an entire studio to do this and couldn't be done in someone's house.

What I did myself why to lighten up the picture to show what was going on in the dark areas. It was very interesting. I'll let you all do the work. Your mission is to prove it false by ------

The muscle movements and postures are way too difficult to mimic, and CGI lends itself to being easily determined.

====

Go see the Jurrasic World movie to see
GOOD CGI or even better. This is actually
quite terrible CGI from someone first year out
of Vancouver Film School or the Art Institute.

It would get you in the door in a small business/advertising
environment but it WOULD NOT get you hired at ILM Image Engine.

THIS IS ANIMATION (real time tooo! Not Rendered!)
www.youtube.com...

AND THIS IS GREAT CHARACTER ANIMATION:
www.youtube.com...

And this a a great showreel on how to do realism:
www.youtube.com...

Look at the realistic movements that DOES NOT have
the fake linear camera movements and fake lens-focus.

It usually takes a FirePro W9100 Pro level graphics card ($5000)
32 gigabytes of RAM and and i7 processor to do that
sort of animation. If you can put up with the slow
render times, you can cheap out and spend only
$700 on a Radeon Fury X graphics card.

So you DO NOT need a whole team just some EYE towards
quality control and proper character movement and final
fully anti-aliased render output!

As the "author" of the Buildings on Mars thread I didn't recycle as the date at YouTube was a couple of days ago. Perhaps Jeff Rense was not aware of the 2007 thread here and no one brought it to his attention although I don't know what drove him to post it. If the old thread had used the word "buildings" instead of alien ruins it would have come up in my search and I would not have embarrassed myself. But, it's a done deal not done maliciously.

I've been doing CGI for over 20 years. I can tell CGI from non CGI. And if you think I Cre enough about this thread to waste my spare time doing an alien animation you are sorely mistaken. But I specialise in photorealistic CGI and know my stuff, I assure you.

===

Then we can BOTH agree this alien video is just CGI !!!!
The vertical mouth movement and voice-over gave it away!
I worked on Alias/Wavefront/SoftImage 3D software in the
late 1980's on SGI gear when that Alien would have been
considered "unrealistic" even then!

It took several advances to the Renderman output engine
by various parties from it's original German developers,
ILM, Digital Domain and others before movies such as
The Abyss and Jurrasic Park FINALLY got animation
looking REAL !!!

Most animators and digital artists owe BIG TIME
to Lucasfilm's ILM (Industrial Light and Magic)
who STARTED almost everything with EditDroid
which was spun off and turned into Adobe Premiere
and gave us non-linear editing as we know it today!
Then their paint program which was also spun off and
turned into Adobe Photoshop then add in Corel Draw
which give us node-based vector editing which forced
Adobe Illustrator and Deneba Canvas to improve
their vector-based drawing system.

Then you can all thank Chyron and Inscriber
for giving us digital video font effects and
animated titling and STEVE JOBS for taking
a calligraphy class and making sure that
VECTOR FONTS and PostScript printing were
forced to be put onto the Apple Macintosh!

Then thank two Canadian companies
SoftImage and Alias for their work on
3D modelling and animation software
which gave us the realistic modelling
and animation we see today!
