Yeah thats old information and recent innovations, such as Image only tracking and homing on Jamming and the ability to operate without GPS guidance makes it even harder.

Home on jam is not a recent innovation.

Wunderwaffe, huh?

Ever developing more expensive per item 'wonder weapons' that will save the day, turn the war around and provide ultimate victory?

History reveals thats a fantasy. The better technology is overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of opposing arms.

The Nazis found this out when they tried to stop the Soviets from advancing on their country. A few heavy tanks or ballistic missiles aren't going to win the day.

And, what did the Iraqis find out in 1990?

The Wunderwaffe of Abrams tanks which had great accuracy and longer range than the T-72 obliterated pretty large Iraqi armored divisions with negligible friendly casualties.

A-10 and Apache attack aircraft destroyed the Republican Guard easier than spraying mosquitos.

And the F-117 sliced through an integrated Soviet air defence system and hit communication nodes in the center of the capital.

Obviously the skill of the Iraqi army & air force was mediocre, but even a well skilled military would have faced the same result, just a couple of weeks later.

What was the difference? American Wunderwaffe: precision guided munitions, communication intelligence, and good training.

American air power destroyed Iraqs military, mostly. The country still isn't secured though, after all this time, further operations, various surges, and gearing up yet again. What good is all that hardware to winning hearts and minds?

They will never stand for a foreign military occupying their homeland.

All empires eventually die because of this. They leave too many enemies in their wake.

They would be used against any type of surface to air missile threat.
