Well, the opening posting was very vague as is anything else that appears to have been said. And, I suspect that the Japanese have little need of third parties' help when it comes to what I or isn't going on in NK. This is helpful for the Japanese right, of course, and keeps the "eternal war" to the fore in the West, in case Laci Peterson, David Beckham or the new Harry Potter don't keep the masses distracted from WMD.
Realistically, the US is always going to be on thin ice on this one because opponents will immediately bring up Israel's nuclear arsenal.
The Dear Leader, however, is an adept at these games: never forget that he and his father have kept a nation under an iron rule for over half a century - pretty much an adult life-time. Never confuse madness with stupidity: no one could call Bush II "mad", justly, but his administration is frequently "stupid": with Kim, it's the other way round: he knows he can bluff and bluff and never ever be made to show his cards.
PS the claimed "bits" of NK weaponry "found" in Alaska were almost certainly carrie there by the sea and this was admitted at the time.
As for "Japanese" components -well, we all know that the military complex is no respecter of nations: the Luftwaffe was rebuilt with Rolls Royce engines.
Both leaders, I guess, have the same task ultimately: to justify ever-rising military expenditure in the face of a masive domestic economic crisis - and, in relative terms, it's worse in the US: it probably cannot get any worse in NK.
And the Dear Leader does not have the annoying hindrance of parties, senates, congresses, and elections.
