Is that a MiG-15 or a 17? Looks like a 15, but I've never been great at identifying the two.

Spot on Zaph. It's a Mig-15 . Amazing aircraft, so small and extremely quiet. I would go as far to say graceful

That's one of those where the MiG-15 is easy to identify, but the MiG-17 has like three more rivets on the panel under the rear of the cockpit.

I took a walking trip over the weekend in the Peak District National Park in Northern England. Had a brief fly by of the U.K.'s HM Coastguard who now have taken over the search and rescue job from the RAF Seakings

The Mach loop is in North Wales. That's on my bucket list. To have a walk around the hills and then sit and watch the aircraft

There is another one over that way. Stretches all the way into Scotland. I will try and dig the info out if needed

It's hard to mistake a Vampire for anything. That was a pretty unique design.

It's cool as hell that you got to see them. I don't think there are many left flying.

Caught a C-130 variant doing touch and gos at Plant 42 today.

I think I saw Air Force One descending towards DC the other day. It was a clearly 4-engined aircraft over northern VA descending east towards DC at ~10,000 feet that didn't show up on any flight tracker, and it looked like it was too high to be making a Dulles approach (and those tend to fly north/south anyways).

I'm addition to the -130, which looks like it was Compass Call, just caught the Edwards NKC-135 at The Plant too.

Why am I filled with the sense that both of those old clunkers' mission profiles have been taken over by...

...something that might be related to plant 42...

There's been a lot of activity there today. In addition to those I saw at least two C-12s, one was doing touch and gos, and a T-38 do a flyby.

Compass Call was originally going as a no bid contract but they're being forced to bid it now.
