Well it would make sense considering she was a quiet shut it and she also murdered her mother which generally means that the mom knew and was just doing nothing about it- very common in that era. She was clearly at least partially sane because she had the common sense to burn her clothes after the fact so I think It may have been pre-meditated and that kind of crime of passion only comes from severe abuse. (In my opinion....I study a lot of psychology as well).
