What's going on here ? She is now the third head of the inquiry who has either resigned or had been forced to quit.
The years go by and we still are no further along with this vital inquiry.

No one knows what is truly going on because all her letter effectively said was "I've had enough, I'm off, please accept it."

There was talk tonight that some committee members were concerned that as the chair, she was spending too much time abroad, but they didn't expand upon it really.

I said they would stall and stall until eventually everyone would forget. These "people" are nothing but predictable. The rules do not apply to the lizards.

Obviously everybody who takes the position finds out all the nasty stuff going on in high places, realize these people can off them in a heartbeat, so their survival instincts kick in.

Cheers - Dave

The Chair for this Enquiry needs to be someone unconnected to any establishment anything, here or from abroad. No lawyers, judges, professors, lords, anything.

Somebody with a strong stomach and stronger ethics, nothing to hide and no love of money. And no bloody 'connections'!

The enquiry needs a Truth-seeker with a death wish.

I truly hope every single living person involved in this systemic rape of children dies a disgusting death, shamed before the world.

Exceptionally suspicious. The truth (indirectly) about why will be gleaned from the defensive statements of gov ministers.

I would vote for Bill Maloney fom Pie n Mash films. He would make an excellent Chair of the Enquiry.

NZ judge Lowell Goddard's response to the Guardian in June 2015 upon her appointment as Chair of the Inquiry into historical sex abuse, “The inquiry will be long, challenging and complex.” Goddard resigned this week after it was disclosed she spent 3 months of her first year abroad, had failed to hear any evidence and claimed the week before that she lacked understanding of English law.

Official comments from the United Kingdom lauding the appointment of New Zealand High Court Justice Lowell Goddard to head an Inquiry into broad child sexual abuse have legal doyens in New Zealand privately scratching their heads.

Goddard J scored dead last in the 2014 poll of New Zealand judges last year, with many lawyers extremely critical of Lowell’s opportunistic public stances, liberties with the truth and contrarian judgments.

. . .

So what did the Home Secretary mean when she assured MPs this week that Goddard’s Inquiry will not be thwarted by the Official Secrets Act in an investigation which will delve into governmental department files in circumstances where there is little doubt of complicity by officials in the scandal? A hint might lie in comments of the ‘fixer’ Home Secretary May has appointed. “The inquiry will be long, challenging and complex,” predicted Goddard J.

Experience tells us you can take Goddard J’s assessment to the bank.

. . .

"Justice Lowell Goddard said there was not such a thing as an "establishment" in her country, New Zealand."

"Asked if she considered herself part of the "establishment", Justice Goddard said: "We don't have such a thing in my country."

Is it true that there is NO ESTABLISHMENT in New Zealand, as Justice Goddard stated in the Parliament?

People of New Zealand pretty much know that the Judiciary is full of nepotism, cronyism, favouritism.

She seems very much trained to say what is required to get a job.

Or possibly, she may be delusional or have strong defensive mechanism of moral disengagement.

But can she deliver?

"Justice Goddard promised complete independence when she appeared before MPs on the Home Affairs Committee for a pre-appointment hearing, having been chosen by Home Secretary Theresa May to lead the inquiry."

Promise, promise, promise...

Isn't this something familiar in New Zealand?

In short, the matters will be (1) not investigated properly, (2) suppressed entirely, and/or (3) forgotten altogether...

But isn't that what the British establishment wants?
