Oh, BenevolentHeretic, free speech is a constitutional right, it can not be banned without legislation and the supreme court taking that after.

You know that, we can not even ban guns, or abortion, what makes you think freedom of speech can be banned that easy.

He is on foreign soil. That's what makes it bad form.

The White House is "foreign soil"?

No! One person, I don't care HOW wonderful he is, cannot "end racism".

Marg, it's sarcasm...

Protocol, schmotocol - Trump doesn't follow protocol and you love him for it. Trump follows bad form all the damn time - talking inappropriately about women, making fun of a disabled person, kicking a woman out of his rally for having a crying baby, advocating the punching out of a disruptor at his rally, the list goes on and on and on....

The White House is "foreign soil"?

I'm confused. I thought the President of Singapore was here in the US for a visit.

What's this foreign soil nonsense?

I already corrected it. He was having a joint press conference.

We aired our dirty laundry in front of the world.

It's bad form and you know it. It was a "joint" Press Conference.

It has never been done. It's a horrible precedent.

He just does what ever the hell he wants to...

You're right. I don't care.

It's politics and as the leader of the Dem party it should be expected of Obama to ridicule the opposition.

What rule-book? Let him defend himself. Trump has been blasting him non-stop, it would be a shame if Obama couldn't hit him back.

Then why is the right so seething with how Obama has ruined this country, you, know, if the POTUS has no real power? Can't have it both ways.

Obama is just a puppet, his handlers control all the decisions, he'll never get out of line. Trump however has a very good probability of going off the reservation ;-) in which case, if he starts charging politicians with high crimes, the shadow government will go batch#t crazy. If I were a betting man and he does what he says he'll do, I give him 30 to 60 days once elected. This may be why there is some trepidation on his part. He knows what he is up against and the potential for unhappy endings.

Cheers - Dave

I am trying to say we had a tradition of a sitting President not attacking the nominee of the other party on Foriegn soil or in joint Press Conferences from the Whitehouse.

Obama broke the tradition. Do sitting Presidents Campaign ?

Of course, the tradition is not to campaign on Foriegn soil.

He did that last week in Japan. Yesterday he attacked from the WH.

In a joint news conference with the President of Singapore.

The racism comment was kind of tongue in cheek.

He promised us the world eight years ago.

Hope that clears it up a little bit. Others were rude.

I appreciate a fair question.

He is using the power of a sitting US President to interfere in this election.

I agree with your post. This part right here needs its own echo chamber so I'm saying it again.

Obama is a top political figure and a leading Democrat, why shouldn't he have an opinion on Trump? It only makes sense that he would be critical of the Republican nominee.

When Obama recv'd the question, he should have stated, as the PM of Singapore did by saying " This is not the proper platform in which to discuss the politics and election of the United States."

That was the perfect response.

In the midst of a diplomatic conference , there should be ZERO party mandering. It was wrong for Obama to address it with any but speaking to it being an inappropriate question vs. reason for conference.
