Reports of chemical gas attacks in 2 Syrian cities

Two chemical gas attacks have been reported in northern Syria, one in the region where a Russian helicopter was downed a day earlier, killing all five people on board.

In the first alleged attack, cylinders suspected of containing chlorine gas were dropped in residential areas in the city of Saraqeb in Idlib province, the anti-regime, voluntary search-and-rescue group Idlib Civil Defence said in a post on its Facebook page.


Russia, Syria's key military backer, has vehemently denied that a chemical attack took place. In a news release carried by Russian and Syrian state news agencies, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the claims of chlorine usage were fabricated by the media.

So reports say two suburban communities have been attacked with chlorine gas, which can cause an incredibly painful death. Some allegations point towards the Assad regime, and questions arise of Russian involvement or knowledge.

This also comes a few days after the US had a botched airstrike resulting in many civilian casualties. Very interesting timing and week in Syria. I personally could see either side of the coin on this one. Syria is volatile and different factions in the loosely controlled military could have done this to enrage the world against the regime, but if that was the case odd that Russia would deny the events all together. Then again these are just reports at this point.

More crimes from the "moderate opposition" no doubt.

Seems like Russia would use something a bit more effective than chlorine gas no? Seem's like a low budget gorilla tactic rather than a world power military attack.

We are going to see ISIS get increasingly desperate as they are being defeated.

Including the "moderate rebels" under the ISIS banner, there never has been a difference.

Pretty sure this was proven when they recently beheaded a child and took video of it.

They also got caught in 2013 doing the same this OP is about.

To the people I know from Syria, it is common knowledge that it is the mercenaries who are using chemical warfare against the Syrian people, it is painfully obvious.

A terrorist attack on the Old City of Aleppo on Tuesday with “shells containing toxic gas” led to the death of five and suffocation of eight more civilians, the outlet quoted the city’s health director, Mohamad Hazouri, as saying.

A local police source told SANA that terrorist groups fired rocket shells on the al-Hamadaniyeh neighborhood, injuring six. They also targeted the Salah-Eddin neighborhood, killing two and injuring 11 more.

I'm gonna suggest that it was ISIS and so unlike 2013 when Kerry begged the planet to bomb Syria because chemical weapons were used by Assad (no proof), THIS TIME the US can go in and finish what they wanted to start a few years back.

The Islamic State has launched chemical attacks in Syria in the past, why would this one be any different?

Although it should be noted that most chemical attacks in Syria are from the US-backed "opposition"

Hi everyone, good to be back, been a while. I see the western media are trying to spin it on the syrian goverment forces and russia. They say it must be because the rebels and Isis dont have aircraft to drop them from. Have they not heard of of these tragic cheap shells being fired by artillery. Rebels, or Isis getting desperate.

I hope no innocent non-muslim civillians were hurt or killed. But due to the successful muslim genocide of christians in Syria, there are very few Christians actually left.

French and British favourite targets in Syria are Hospitals and Schools, because girls go to those schools. The French and the British, which follow the teachings of the Muslim Brotherhood and salafists know this very well, and hand over ideological help to them, with these kind of strikes.
