I had to look this up:

My chemical romance-welcome to the black parade-lyrics
The song, as well as the rest of the album, follows The Patient, a man who is dying. The idea is that Death comes for you in the form of your fondest memory; in the case of the Patient it is a parade that his father took him to when he was young.
....

He said, "Will you defeat them
Your demons, and all the non-believers
The plans that they have made?"
"Because one day I'll leave you
A phantom to lead you in the summer
To join the black parade."

So I guess he dies, yet the chorus is very upbeat

We'll carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on

From the second verse

A world that sends you reeling from decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all
So paint it black and take it back

Sounds very like an ancient cleansing ritual to bind the pollutants to the underworld.

Along the themes of dying and being led away in summer:

I don't know what the heck I was listening to between '93 and '96, but somehow or other I never heard the Sting song Fields of Gold. Heard it first in '96, instantly became my number 1 song, well for '96 anyway. I was forming a new religion in my mind which was worldly, and even a bit underworldly, de-emphasizing the sun and light. So the words "Sun in His jealous Sky" sort of struck a chord. Then I went about looking for a love. Barely dodged a bullet there.

So anyway, here it is, with a very underworld themed video:

Is it the same singer for all parts, or the band with just the one guy's face showing?

That was devastating! I'm going to steal it, and use it in my thread. Thank you!

Now I get it! The OP is a cover by Austin Jones. He isn't affiliated with the band.

Other people have posted their own video montages of the song too. One person says the song saved her life a couple of times. I think I can understand that.
