You must be loads of fun at parties.

In the wise words of jay and silent bob, i think someone # in is cereal

What I lack in pity I make up for in good looks. Cereal is overrated.

Oatmeal with brown sugar is the way to go really.

You've obviously not had Cream Of Wheat.

I think it's a good thing to avoid partisan politics if one gets a little triggered by disputation and debate, so I agree. Most political violence is perpetrated by those who mix their emotions into everything, that a nice and quiet room and lullaby for them might do us all some good. This is not directed to you personally, but I think in general it might.

I haven't noticed it in the grocery stores (but then again, I haven't really looked either).

Do they still have it ?

If so, then I'm jotting it down for my next grocery run.

yeah, it's still available. Cooks FAST. I wouldn't use a thick bottom pan. That burns.

How's this for irony, my computer just died.

I'm on the wife's iPad at the moment, but will probably just read a book.

Looks like karma demanded that I take a break.

Hahahahahahahahaha

Yep, it cooks fast and burns fast.

I remember my mom standing in front of the stove stirring it constantly until it was ready... only took a few minutes once it came to a boil.

So I'll be doing it the same way as she did once I get my hands on some.

Mmmmm, Cream of Wheat on cold winter mornings.

Can't believe I forget about that stuff all these years !

My index finger gets mighty exhausted from having to use the mouse wheel to scroll past the 6000 political threads trying to find non-US politics related stuff.

It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

On the positive side... my right index finger is now starting to look like Popeye's forearms.

Rawr !

EXACTLY!!!

Thanks for the morning laugh!

Ignoring "the stupid" has been a full time job of late. Unplugging is such a trite phrase, altho very apt. Been spending my time doing summery things all of which have been just as amazing as any other year. Getting stuck in the microcosm is such a time-suck.

Log off if it makes you feel better, and let us know how that works for you, but it seems to me an admission of weakness instead of a declaration of rationality.

Declaration of rationality?

Well that's a whole lot of effete BS right there

Macho flavored - with nonsense sprinkles and a cherry on top

The benefits are worth it. I've come up with the idea for several threads for the site(this is one of them). One is political and I think it's going to be good. Non partisan. I've come up with a damn good idea for a product(just last night), needs some research but I think it's promising. Came up with some decent comedy this week. And remembered a joke about the 3 Samurai that I haven't thought of in forever. Clearing the crap out leaves rooms for other things.

Like when George gave up sex?

:-)

I've made a few friends here, and have got to know a few other people from reading them every day. Seems like it's often the people that are discussing/arguing for real that need to take a break once in a while

It's always a good idea - works for me. Going to be harder with November coming up

Funny helps - a lot

Macho flavoured? Must be the hot flashes. I can tell by the lack of periods.

Either oatmeal or Cream of Wheat with brown sugar is fine. I also liked Malt-O-Meal too.

And if I must have cereal, make it Grape Nuts.

Then I got married

Leslie, but you are quite the wanna be bully lately aren't you?

I have a theory about that, but maybe not for this thread

Funny thing just occurred to me...

Mine are not so bad as all that to be honest...but maybe yours are?

It would explain so much...honestly I think I've had you all wrong this whole time :-)

On topic - It's interesting you thought to come into this thread to insult the OP directly (though you cowed a bit after) and then insult people with feelings in general

I've noticed that people that have genuine emotions are people you don't exactly admire or respect. Why is that?

I think it ties into the whole anti snowflake thing in some way - definitely. I also think it says so much more about a bully...

It's the Internet, dear.

Look to your left, look to your right. No bullies within distance I wager? Perhaps it's time to go outside and find some, at least so you can vindicate yourself.

So I was right then? :-)

Anyhow - I did say wannabe. You don't really qualify

You said earlier:

I know you think words should have no influence or effect on emotion, so there can be no actual bullying on the internet. If this is true - what's the point in having emotions or expressing them?

I asked last post:

I've noticed that people that have genuine emotions are people you don't exactly admire or respect. Why is that?

So, on topic...the reason some of us need a break is because of a lack of genuine discussion
