just wondering how far along Germany is along with its stealth program that was reported late last year?
Stealth Bomber
With its success with its Lampyridae in the 1980s along with its "Predator" groundwork in UAV,s is it a case of waiting for Neuron to kickstart or has something "tringular" already (Belgium) taken place and been flying for some time..

a reply to: Blackfinger

The new "Weißbuch" was just released, budgets just permitted, all very low-key for the same old internal political reasons... so there is nothing new to be known really, except it (Tornado successor) will be pan-european, under GAF aegis, and Rheinmetall (RAS) have been allocated a major chunck of the budget. So the future will be OPUAVs. UAV is where the money is going - also nothing new.

BREXIT may see a realignment of the projects in Europe. Recently the UK and France combined their BAE Taranis and Dassault nEUROn programmes.

The French are fickle partners at the best of times, so really don't see this level of co-operation continuing post BREXIT.

Germans have also explicitly stated there is no money for the tornado replacement to be a completely new platform developed from scratch. So in reality we're looking at existing planes (or ucavs in development) to be tailored to germany's needs. My money would be either on modified EF, franco-british based future ucav or simply dropping the "new plane" altogether and getting f-35.
