Bernie did what he had to do by way of the DNC's 'rules'; that includes not being too hard on the other D candidates - that 'I'm sick of hearing about your goddam emails' line, which handled differently could have won him the election right then and there - and endorsing her when it became obvious the election had been stolen/won by the machine he was so obviously up against. That's the price he paid for running as a D, but running as an Independent from the get-go was too ridiculous to even attempt; he had no way of knowing how much money he was going to bring in, nor the size of his crowds. It was an honest miscalculation that the next guy won't make.

That said, Jill Stein has offered him a place on her ticket and if these guys are smart, and they are, Gary Johnson, Jill Stein and Bernie will join forces, announce what their cabinet would look like with all three involved, and run a political freight train right down through the middle of the hot mess that is the Trump and Clinton campaigns. With both mainstream candidates utterly hated, now's the time for a third party that could triumph over both sides. Both of them have upcoming, incoming legal troubles, Trump with the smaller problem of the Trump University lawsuits, the Clintons with the criminally fraudulent Foundation that is still to hit the fan, and even the RNC is beginning to realize that Trump is certifiable; his 'supporters' are reversing position in droves. Hillary's poll numbers will tank even more now that the conventions are over - some good speakers aside, her hectoring speech at the end with the Nurse Ratchet voice probably convinced nearly everyone that they simply can't and won't listen to THAT for another four years.

Bernie knows his options, and knows the risks, up to and including violence against him and his family. I'm looking forward to seeing what he chooses to do. And yeah, that camera shot of him last night before he realized he was on camera said a lot... he's seething.

a reply to: ChesterJohnI'm sensing that Bernie gave up the nomination, too soon, and it was planned from the get go.

I disagree especially after what was revealed in the leaks about the DNC rigging it for Hillary. If it was planned from the get go they wouldn't have had to rig it for her.

Bernie builds the army, and hands it over to Hillary?

He built the army, but I don't think its going over to HIllary, Actually its doing the opposite by how the DNC kicked them out and went Trump on them with their fence.

He betrayed his army and he is going to run as a independent? Don't see it happening....

Agreed and Agreed.

Some fancy negotiation or threats had to have occurred for him to have stated she is the lesser evil when clearly she is not. Especially with evidence of the DNC rigging and stealing the nomination from him.

Oh I doubt he'll run with the Green Party, that's just internet speculation. He left the Dems because he is an Independent. What is funny, he did want to reform the Dems but I suppose he realizes he alone can't do that because the corruption is too deep.

Wow,
if he ran as a third party he might actually have a chance- I might have to go and actually vote to see if a third party could win.

He may be a socialist lifetime government stooge- but showing the US that a third party CAN win might be worth his four to eight years of whatever the # he thinks freedom is.

A third party with a chance would be interesting.

For almost 80 years Bennie has done nothing. He didn't earn a paycheck until he was 40 and has been leeching off the taxpayers since. Granted there's a lot of people who view Bernie as their savior, but it should never be forgotten those same people can not find a way to pay for their own college. Did anyone watch the DNC it was like all the kids who never got invited to their schoolmates birthday parties finally got their chance to shine. My point is Bernie is a nobody, Bernie Bros are nobodies, and I'm over it. Bernie sold out whatever leverage he had and that's that. Such is the life of a liberal cuck.

Your speaking of two different powers, that of the DNC, and of Hillary's personal skulduggery.

I doubt the deal I speak of was broadcast to the entire DNC. More along the lines of sending a messenger with a simple message "Vince Foster". Something similar to Bill meeting Loretta, or James Comey submitting to the crime machine. The deal was to play ball, or your out, permanently!

Bernie probably already knows his fate if she is elected.

Your not dealing with one corrupt politician, this is a crime syndicate that knows dead men tell no tales.....

bernie accomplished a lot by clearly influencing the party platform, but last night he was visibly bitter, and I don't blame him at all

IMHO He feels like he should have been accepting the nomination last night, and after taking the high road and being the person that literally nominated hillary, he couldn't put a happy face on it as a man of tremendous integrity.

I don't think this means an independent run, he knows that would hand the presidency to trump, and the sole reason he took the high road this week was to defeat trump

Sanders should have called the DNC out on national television for committing electoral fraud. He did not. He sold his voter base down the river.

The corruption and fraudulent activity from the DNC is criminal. "Anyone but Trump" is not a good excuse to condone this madness.

You won't convince me to vote out of fear.

He didn't influence anything because Clinton will toss all of that out of the window come January if she wins.

that's certainly a possibility, and it always has to get through congress no matter who wins in november, but his campaign did make a difference

Now a flurry of comments from some is that Bernie is planning on running as a third party.

Why would he endorse Pant Suit this week and then decide to run Third Party?

That's WHITE pants suit

EXACTLY. When Hillary said she was against the TPP, one of her convention speakers, Terry McAuliffe, told Politico she was actually for the TPP and would reverse her stance if elected POTUS.

You can't trust a word that comes out of her mouth!

I actually believe that if Bernie did run a third party or cruz for that matter the win would go to Hillary.

The record stands that many words from her mouth since and possibly before Benghazi cannot be trusted.

The only thing Bernie influenced was Hillary's speechwriters. I swear, everything she said last night sounded like it came STRAIGHT from Bernies prior speeches. It was so pathetic and pandering that I don't know how anyone with any lick of a individual thought process couldn't see it for what it was.

Being part of a group, and by extension "towing" the party line is the exact opposite of what a free thinking, intelligent, rational person would do. I don't care if we are talking dems, repubs, religions, cults or any other sort of "our way" clubs.

Someone who supported bernie, and hated hillary, who is now willing to vote for hillary because it's "their" political party is, in my mind, just barely above meeting the legal definition of mentally handicapped.
