The program will include a taped video address from Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton as well as remarks by Ambassador Marshall, Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Tara Sonenshine, and President of the James Beard Foundation Susan Ungaro, who is also a co-host for the event.
The event will include a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding that formalizes the partnership between the offices of Ambassador Marshall, Under Secretary Sonenshine, and the James Beard Foundation.

yea but we knew that was a lie because the defense budget really is virtually bottomless. Any budget issues for Libya defense would have been under the jurisdiction of AFRICOM right?? This happened in DC, so I don't think as far as money goes, either is related.

Because they were begging for help 2-3 weeks before this event. Traffic of them saying "we are on thin ice". Brits and Red Cross bailed out of the area. It should have been her top priority to either get them help or get them out. Then she said there was no money in the hearings for extra security. So no money for that but money to start a world exchange of chefs which we fund...housing, paychecks. These are high dollar chefs and assistants, not the help in the kitchen.

They never got it.

It's six days before Benghazi. Right there in the article.

The main point though is it's a effin waste of money for a bankrupt country. You do that stuff when you have a surplus, not when the books are deep in red ink and 20% of the population or more are on some form of welfare assistance.

I am a veteran.
The machine gun was to be used by the private operators there, so it was the State Department security budget that covered it. The Marines there are embassy guards.
