Pence: If Russia Hacked DNC, They Must Face Consequences

Republican vice-presidential nominee Mike Pence released a statement Wednesday during Donald Trump's press conference, claiming that Russia would face "serious consequences" if they are behind the hacking of the DNC's emails. "The FBI will get to the bottom of who is behind the hacking," he wrote. "If it is Russia and they are interfering in our elections, I can assure you both parties and the United States government will ensure there are serious consequences."

The Indiana governor’s statement came just as his running-mate Trump called upon Russia to hack Hillary Clinton's "missing" emails. "I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” the GOP nominee said. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press."

Well aren't these two off to a great start. Good job, Trump and team.

What would Mr. Pence infer as to "Serious Consequences" ? Some Trump Steaks and Wine for Mr. Putin , and a New Golf Course Built for him in the Ukraine ?

The Democratic Party is the state now?

Wonder if he'll do anything about the daily Chinese hacking of almost everything?

More calls from the hardliner warmongers who serve the military industrial complex.

The only hacking allowed is by the NSA, clearly Vlad missed the memo.

Typical deflection from the issue at hand, ignoring the potential perpetrator and drawing spurious connections. If Russia is behind the hack, it's kind of a big deal.

Hacking is nothing new, but publicizing documents to attempt to sway an election certainly is. Putin would clearly prefer a Trump presidency. The billionaire Republican candidate is a longtime admirer of Putin’s, and has publicly stated that he wouldn’t necessarily defend NATO allies against a Russian invasion. To top it all off, Trump’s campaign manager, Paul Manafort, formerly worked as an advisor to Viktor Yanukovych, the Russian-backed President of Ukraine before he was ousted in 2014.

The countries of the world are constantly doing this to eachother, friend and foe. It happens an insane amount of time.

Now all of a sudden they want consequences. This is just a stage show for people who don't know any better.

Take a look for yourself

No, the deflection is in concentrating on who the hackers are instead of WHAT exactly was hacked. No different to the reactions of government and MSM propaganda mouthpieces to McKinnon, Assange, Manning and Snowden.

and, do you think Americas were more pissed it was the NSA or the fact it was their private/personal info that was hacked through PRISM?????

I feel like Pence is really oblivious about Trump and the way he acts. He appears clueless, almost as though no one from their campaign talked to him about the plan. They just asked him to be VP and then stopped talking to him. He has absolutely no idea what he got himself into and how stupid he is going to look in the end. haha

And how exactly do you know how that it was PRISM? Do you have any evidence or are you just surmising this?

The emails were released by WikiLeaks, whose founder, Julian Assange, has made it clear that he hoped to harm Hillary Clinton’s chances of winning the presidency. It is unclear how the documents made their way to the group. But a large sampling was published before the WikiLeaks release by several news organizations and someone who called himself “Guccifer 2.0,” who investigators now believe was an agent of the G.R.U., Russia’s military intelligence service.

Just had a thought and it may be crazy...

Could the Russians have hacked Clinton's email during the shift from a Libya to Syria. Maybe the Russians didn't like what they saw so they upped and bombed "moderate rebels" (whatever that means). Maybe that is why they went in because of Hillarys basement server.

I know... Crazy thinking.

I just love the way this is turning out. Wikileaks... Russia... Two horrible candidates for POTUS. Both DNC and RNC having their own upheavals.

You just can't make this stuff up.

Never thought I'd live to see the day where a presidential candidate would actively encourage a foreign government to hack his political opponent.

Talk about unAmerican.

Since we are talking about conspiracies . . .

What if an American team in Russia is responsible for hacking the DNC?

The DC (NATO general) leaks already show that NATO wants a war with Russia and now another hack on Clinton is leading to more talk of confrontation with Russia.

Cyberspace has just recently been declared a potential war-zone and now everyone is rushing to start a fight there.

Most interesting that it is the Democrats and their silent ("Clinton supporting") majority who want a fight with the Russians instead of old Ronnie Reagan or Neo-Nixon.

hmmmmmmm

"Republican vice-presidential nominee Mike Pence released a statement Wednesday during Donald Trump's press conference, claiming that Russia would face "serious consequences" if they are behind the hacking of the DNC's emails."

I find this extraordinary.

Emails get hacked by the US govt, google and 10,000 and 1 other people each and every day and none of these "Republican vice-presidential nominee" types ever say a damn word about it.

The word "Russia' is used and suddenly the skys falling in and the US is in imminent, clear and mortal danger of obliteration",

What this does prove of course is that the US govt considers the rights and privacy, choices and options of the American People are unworthy of protection, but as soon the "Russia" word is mentioned, they consider they have the right to mortgage the peace and security of every citzen in the world bar the elite by pushing the world just that little bit closer to nuclear war.

I can only appeal to the US people to take action and lock these nutcases up before they get us all killed.

Why do I get the feeling that the US govt is absolutely itching for war with Russia??

strange...this morning I watched Trump's press conference on another thread, and this was not the position Trump stated. He actually stated that if, and he emphasized "if", Russia is responsible...that it's understandable since Putin has no respect for the current US administration (for reasons completely understandable to Trump). He was actually pleading to Russia, if they have the emails...to release the 30000 Clinton deleted.

So his stance from Pence seems to me to be in somewhat of a contradiction to what Trump said.
