Friedman was nominated by President Bill Clinton on March 22, 1994, to a seat vacated by Gerhard A. Gesell. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 15, 1994, and received his commission on June 16, 1994.
He assumed senior status on December 31, 2009.

I've been mulling over the Jodie Foster link.
She must have been quite bothered by that historical connection with Hinckley Jr.
Even her relationship with Cydney Bernard was kept out of the media for the most part.
I don't feel qualified to weigh in on this subject.

The judge that released him is Paul L. Friedman:

Just in time for election mayhem. Why would this judge release this mentally ill person at this particular time? If Hinckley goes off his meds just in time to attempt another assassination, I wonder who it would be? Any guesses?

He's connected to Bush, not Clinton. Anyways, it's just a natural progression of how he's been treated. For the past 15 years he's been getting partial releases for longer and longer spans of time. Being let out fully is a natural progression of that.

Does anyone remember him as being a family friend of the Bush's?

That is crazy and sounds so much to me like the strange connections of some modern day shooters with rich powerful father's who wanted rid of their disabled sons...

Interesting thought.
Consider, too, that Bush Sr. lied about being in the CIA and in Dallas when Kennedy was assassinated.
There are theories that Lyndon Johnson orchestrated Kennedy's assassination with the help of the CIA.
The attempt to assassinate Reagan deserves some substantive attention, IMO.
The JFK enemies meeting the night before he was killed is interesting. A lot of people who disliked JFK were at that, from the mafia, to Nixon, the FBI and CIA even had representatives.

I think I saw him walking into the local G4S office with a copy of 'The Rye' and "Bickle" on his Army Jacket. He was not sporting the mohawk yet so we should be ok.
He tried to shoot and kill the POTUS. He should never be released from any type of facility. Once crazy...always crazy...this way it is easier for him to go off his meds.
