@Moderators:

I want one of you to categorically and comprehensively explain the details of what, exactly a moderator CAN do, not what you personally would do, but what it is POSSIBLE to do, using ones moderator privileges. I would hope that one of you would be good enough to state categorically whether it is possible to do what is being suggested or not, in an unambiguous manner.

This.

What would being popular have to do with the topic?

It has to do with pecking order which was the subject of the post I replied to.

I prefer to be disliked to be honest, I often find it inspires more amusing discussion.

I like this particular forum as well because without the star option it forces people to respond in a post instead of just starring anyone I disagree with.
Well, either respond or just suck it up, both equally amusing.

And how would popularity have anything to do with the 'pecking order'? The rules are the rules.

Bull# little green blobs aside...

Why attempt to get banned?
Why not just leave?

Makes no sense to me.

Bringing bull# little green blobs back into the fray...
Who gives a toss really?

Some of my best posts went ignored and some of my most lame one liners get a bajillion stars...
It's just the way it is.

If anything is annoying about the star system it's that you can't star someone who exposes a Hoax or LOL forum thread once they've been moved...
Despite them doing a great service to the site.

Numerous times I've seen threads moved and you can no longer star the ones who brought to light the shenanigans at hand.

But my own star count, which is pretty high is irrelevant to me.
I'd give them all away for civil discussion on these boards.

Please.

No, you see, I am not pathetic....

The moment that a lot of people here like me is the moment that I have sold out and have become a brownnose poser.

Really. You asked "what pecking order?" I just pointed out that you don't experience the pecking order when you are "at the top".

Don't act dumb because I know you aren't.

Not possible.

Even the owners can't read our U2Us.

I speak from experience.

There is no pecking order.
Long time members get themselves banned frequently, nobody is above the T's and C's, and while there are of course cozy groups of likeminded members there is no pecking order.

It's like a pub in my mind, some pricks, some decent folk, some whiny folk, and all kept in line by the bouncers who follow the rules the landlord/licensee makes up.

Don't like the pub then drink elsewhere instead of whining about some imaginary pecking order.

How do I not experience it? Be clear. Are you saying the rules do not apply to posters that have been here for awhile or have more posts? Stop being vague and cryptic, spit it out.

Yeah people who do that are sad acts, mate.

I've seen it numerous times.

It was a joke. Don't take this site, or yourself too seriously. And certainly don't take me seriously. No one else here does. Roll with it. Enjoy the social aspect, have a few arguments, a few laughs, and always remember there are real people on the receiving end of your comments. We have a tendency to forget that sometimes, and I, probably more than some, need to be reminded of that occasionally.

There is no reason why technically they couldn't.

Whether they do or don't is another question.

Yes, they can. I had to have them get involved with a person some years ago who was making violent threats.

There is a reason I'm just not going to blab why.

You can take my word for it or you can believe fiction.
Either is good with me.
