A nice Malbec is always good.

On a hot day, I always went for a Salty Dog: 4 parts ruby red, or white if you like it sour, grapefruit juice to 1 part gin. Shake vigorously and pour over ice into a salt rimmed glass.

Suggestions for tomorrow's wind-down booze-chill?

three pepper vodkas, but not branded ones. Just normal vodka Finlandia, or any good Russian vodka plus special chilly pepper seeds, you can buy from most herb-seasoning stores. Try the chilly to be import from South America or other hot place.

Cheers

I like different drinks at different times. Gluvein at Yule/Christmas and Snowballs.

Summer in the outside cold beer, Sangria and white wine.

Whiskey in the winter and red wine.

Autumn and holidays Rum and coke.

Probably sounds weird but my moods differ at different times of the year so my drinks change. The staples though are Grolsh, Perroni and a light ale.

I have been on a jack and gingerale kick for a few months now. Living an hour from the jack daniels distillery has it's perks.

I have definitely become a martini man, after 5 nothing like it. One part gin. Two parts vodka, and one part Tribuno extra dry. Shake over crushed ice, strain and add one olive in a proper martini glass . It puts my day in perspective.

Bloody Mary recipe?

1 part vodka to 2 parts tomato juice. Dash of Worcester sauce, splash of tabasco and a pinch of salt and pepper. Beautiful, tasty drink.

Ice spoils it so it's best when the vod and juice is ice cold.

Another one I like was inspired by Raymond Chandler's 30s detective novels - a gimlet. One part quality gin and two parts Rosie's lime cordial. Damn, it's good to drink, but too much alcohol for a night's drinking. Best as a refresher between lagers or bitters.

16 year Lagavulin malt whisky with plenty of ice, lemonade and an umbrella is nihilistic anarchy for the taste buds. Stir it up with anything handy for that ultimate iconoclastic vibe and short cut to offending both the bar staff and anyone within earshot.

I agree, the use of the umbrella is highly offensive.

Ahh, calimocho, a few years ago when I was living with spanish people I learned of this, being the purist that I was I thought mixing red wine with anything was sacrilege, let alone with coke.
But man does it go down easily, better to take it slow once you get up, if you've been sitting and drinking, lol

I discovered some stuff called Poma it's a pomegranate liquor that tastes just like juice. Pretty easy to consume in vast amounts rather quickly..

Very simple, really, easy to make.

1 1/2 ounces Tequila (give or take)
Freshly squeezed lime juice (1/2 of a regular store bought lime)
Shake with ice and enjoy. Now depending on the size of your glass, adjust measurements accordingly

If you were to use Key limes you may want to add your favorite brand of triple sec.
Some folks prefer lemon over lime.

I drink both, depending on what's available and I prefer the lime.

I have two go-to drinks:

Papaya margarita
Fresh papaya in a blender with lots of ice
two glugs* of Triple-Sec
two glugs of Tequila
slice of lime to offset the sweet, and because it looks purdy

I have no name for this one:
Dark rum
Ginger water (made by boiling shredded ginger in water, then filtering out the solids)
Grapefruit juice

* when you upend a booze bottle, it makes a glugging sound as the air is momentarily trapped. Each one is "one glug".

I'm a beer person and i usually drink Murphy's, but once every blue moon i like to drink Romulan ale.

2 shots Bacardi
2 shots grain alcohol or Vodka (i use vodka)
2 shots of blue curacao.

It's very strong and if you have more than one you will understand why it's illegal in the Federation
