So many good ones have already been mentioned. Here's a few of my favs.

But my all-time-favorite-movie ever is...

Cabin Boy It's silly/zany but it absolutely cracks me up. The cast is hilarious, Mulligan, Calli, Chocki and Pap's "Fishermen's Greek," it's too funny.

I have so many. My criteria for a great movie are any combination of the repeat viewings factor, high amount of quotable lines, great actor/actress, nostalgia, and cinematography. I know I'll forget a couple, but here goes:

Goodfellas, Casino, Godfather I & II, Gangs of New York - I love mafia movies.

Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, ET, Goonies, Indiana Jones Trilogy, Star Wars Trilogy - Steven Speilberg & George Lucas made my childhood.

Dazed & Confused & American Graffiti - Both movies are a snapshot of life as a teenager in their respective eras. Both take place in one night with no real plot. Great soundtracks.

The Big Chill - Now that I've gotten older, this film really grabs me. Another great soundtrack.

Ocean's 11 (2001 version) - Great cast, great dialogue (very quotable), great style.

There Will Be Blood - Daniel Day Lewis. Enough Said. Spectacular cinematography.

The Abyss - Such an underrated movie by James Cameron. This movie broke so much ground in filming and production techniques. Be sure to watch the Special Edition cut with added footage.

Tombstone, Pulp Fiction - Holy quote fest!


So many action flicks:

Point Break, Lethal Weapon quadrilogy, Die Hard, Top Gun, Alien & Aliens, Bad Boys 1 & 2, Predator, Terminator 1 & 2

Honorable mention to Band of Brothers. I know it's not a movie but I watch it once a year. Love it.

SCI-FI HORROR

Predator (1987) & Alien (1979) come to mind, although Alien 1 I find to be dull while its timeless sequel Aliens (1986) is top notch stuff (was more towards SCI-FI Action than SCI-FI Horror).

The following 2 are both HP Lovecraft adaptations, both made by the same people, and I love em:
Re-Animator (1985)
From Beyond (1986)

The Signal (2007) is a proper sci-fi horror flick, where Stephen King's new movie of the same name is more of an interesting metaphor (cell phones warping human culture). This is a good one that also fits into the small little niche of "Man vs. Media" films I recognize (others include In the Mouth of Madness, Jumanji, "Cigarette Burns" (John Carpenter),

The Lawnmower Man (1992)! Stephen King hits the list once again. The sequel was a proper dystopian sci-fi film, but the original a proper sci-fi horror.

Sphere (1998) is a quality psychological horror sci-fi film. Takes place in a underwater laboratory reminiscent of The Abyss (1989), which adds an added layer of claustrophobia to the experience.

If you enjoyed Sphere then you just might love Pandorum (2009), a good original modern sci-fi hooror film, where our characters are trapped in a "ark" type spaceship where everybody has amnesia er "pandorum" space psychosis.

The Terminator (1985) also qualifies as a top pick sci-fi horror, although its sequels do not.

The Fly is an honorable mention (the old ones and the "new" 1980's run).
