I loved Rat Patrol. One of my favorites.

Just so you know, I am not a pacifist when force is required.

I'm more of a "Get it done, NOW!"

Get it done, then we can live peacefully.

But, still - - we can't go backwards - - we can only go forward.

It is time for the Republicans to move on to issues that actually matter where they can win the war of ideas against Democrats.

Isn't cooperation and compromise the better solution? Or is the fact that neither party wants to do that the reason our country is circling the drain right now?

This kind of divisive rhetoric is what is killing our country right now, that goes for both sides of the spectrum.

Damn effective isn't it? What's going on in international news that we are being distracted from?

I don't know if we're watching the same convention or not but what I heard the last 2 days was spectacular

Spectacular? A bunch outdated, hate-spewing, propagandists that have no useful ideas (other then boosting manufacturing) and only care about one segment of America?

Why reinvent one of the Two Party system needs to be done away with? A reinvention will just be co opted eventually. The Dems should be a dead party too. Time to move on.

Their platform this year includes a lengthy diatribe on "one man, one woman" marriage, a promise to wage a war on porn ( of all things ) and discussion of wanting the Bible in public schools.

Sorry man but the status quo for the GOP is alive and well.

Yeah but we're not hearing about it... it doesn't seem that important to Trump and he's right. They really are not that important in the pecking order of issues to deal with.

The whining won't stop. At the moment, it's whining to shut others down because they have a liberal President. As soon as power is taken from them, whining will turn to violence.

You mean some home truths and honesty about the the awful mess liberals have made of the country, I think and a message that all Americans need to help fix it. I know the divisive politics and race baiting of the liberal govt and media is very important to some people, but it really has to stop, just like Trump says.

I can't honestly say the republican party is dead. But I can say with a degree of confidence that the party will be different in the future. Which is all well and good, change though uncomfortable, is necessary and inevitable.

What we really need to do is eliminate the two party system. This election is a perfect example of what happens when you are forced to choose the least hated candidate. If this is the best the two party system has to offer, then it is definitely time to abandon the two party system altogether.

More than the two parties, this election has become a battle between business as usual and the demand for change. It isn't about the candidates any more. People are attacking both candidates, for some very good reasons and some not so good reasons. But it really isn't about clinton or Trump. They are just the figureheads.

Eight years ago we were promised hope and change, something we desperately needed. obama got elected not because of his record, his accomplishments, or his suitability for the job. He was elected because he symbolized the change in politics we need so badly. Unfortunately he failed miserably. All we got was eight more years of business as usual. Now people are mad as hell and willing to slap the whole political system in the face by electing Trump. And there are enough pissed off people in this country right now to pull it off.

I don't think Trump is presidential material. But if he can crack the foundation of the two party system and start a real change in US politics, then I will vote for him. Not because I think he will be a great president, but because we need to change the way we do things here and hillary will be eight more years of business as usual if not worse than usual.

It really is time for change. Both sides need to just look around, its not hard to figure out.

People in general need to quit worrying about what other people do socially anyways. Who cares if someone prefers Oscar Mayer over Chicken Of The Sea. If you want to dislike "sodomites" save that for church and worry about your own families "morals." Your post is 100% correct. I think this is part of the reason Trump is doing so well, and that the establishment Republicans are so pissed. So many of them are stuck in the dark ages of Christianity and cannot stand tolerance for the so called sexual "deviants" as they like to brand them.

I think man on man sexual acts are gross, but that does not stop me from having gay friends and respecting people. I also find it strange that a man would want to wear a dress, but that does not stop me from standing up for trans rights.

And to all of the Christian Republicans, remember that if Jesus was alive today he would be hanging out with the LGBT community and would probably spend a lot of time in Vegas.

Also, please concede that the drug war is over so we can end this nonsense. 80% of people in prison are there for non-violent victimless crimes.

I will be voting for Trump by the way. I will be going with a large group of my extended family which happen to be a bunch of first generation legal Mexican immigrants. They are going to wear sombreros with "Make America Great Again" embroidered into them.

There is some interesting switching of parties going on this election cycle for sure, neocon Kristol goes over to Clinton and gay Milo goes over to Trump. And GOP delegates cheer a speech from Ivanka Trump that would be equally cheered at the DNC( minus the mention of Donald).

More than ever before this is a idealogical battle that is transcending party lines, this is why you will have people from both parties switching sides this round. I don't trust the polling at all.

I don't get it.. The pretty good quote at the bottom of your comment section, although I don't agree with libratarians economically, says "I'm a libratarian.. more freedom.. less government.. no war".

Your comment says protect us at home and overseas.. I actually agree with the right with one or two things, but you do know that all these wars to "protect" us is a joke, don't you? There's massive amounts of evidence gathered over decades time that proves behoynd a shadow of a doubt that war is a game, that it's only waged for money, and that it has been all along..
