last year, I tinkered and invented a very minor device used in surgeries.

It has gone through several processes. Submissions, legal gobbly-gook, further applications, design redo's.

It has reached the stage where prototypes were actually tested.

Minor design changes were made.

Today I was notified that the device will be named after me.

A Health company is contemplating a 350K grant to mass produce and have sole user rights.

More legal stuff.

Even though I won't have a road named after me, I will never land on the Moon or be placed in the history books for something awesome, I will leave, as a small legacy, something with my name on it that will aid in the treatment of people.

So yay. Just wanted to crow a little bit and was getting tired of the political stuff.

i hav enever invented anything, but have a road named after me. LOL...its a side road that has no addresses on it. Since it dead ended into the street right across from where I grew up, my grand dad paid to have the street given my last name. Being the only person in town with that last name...its my street.

Now i just need to buy a house on the street (4 houses share the street as corner houses for each street it connects) and have it replatted to deliver mail there.

But even then, it still wouldn't be as cool as your story. Thats just some grade A stuff there, cowpoke.

Just an all-purpose gadget to aid with SCD's post-op or tourniquets during surgeries. It's one thing less for surgical teams to worry about.

YOU DESERVE

A

WONDERFUL

RED-LETTER DAY!

Personally, I hope they make you filthy rich, as well.

If not, at least you can rest confident in a great deal of good running around loose because you passed their way.

Thank you. In the grand scheme of things, not earth-shattering, but it's something I sunk a lot of my money into and spent a year and a half toying with.

If a regular schmuck like me can do it, anyone can!

A hands-free device to do secondary pressure monitoring/regulating. And it has cool hooks.

Oh no!

I just had a thought that you may have been doing 'off the books' testing in the basement!?

Blame the Mason for my terrible imagination!

I'll share once I get the nod from legal that I can fully disclose.

You biomeds will love it. It'll save you time from fixing abused SCD's etc.

I was so hoping it would be some sort of self-lobotomy gadget and you were looking for clinical trial subjects.

I have.

And I can rest assure everyone that several people were harmed permanently in my basement during the creation of my device.
