UK, the phrase "white privilege" didn't evolve with or from the BLM movement.

It's been shorted from "white, straight, male privilege" and points squarely at the concept of the "Patriarchy" which in turn dates from academic writings within and from the Feminist Movement and Identity Politics dating from the late 80s-early 90s.

I don't stand to debate those categories nor do I support the absolutist thinking incorporated in them ... but that's the basis of the terminology and all versions of "privilege" points to systemic discrimination whether "racist, sexist, heteronormative, etc."

What are you on about?

I assure you I am in no way overly upset about anything you type, and I can manage to get quite gassy on my own without your help.

So making fun of Trumps skin color isn't about his skin color, its about him being fake. Feel free to defend someone if they make fun of Beyonce for lightening her skin, I am sure you will be right there.

If anyone sounds like they are taking things to seriously its the person the can't stop mentioning "300 years of second class citizens". I am just tired of the liberal hypocrisy of saying some things can't be made fun of like skin color, but its perfectly acceptable to make fun of conservatives about those things.

You say Hillary comments are worse than Trump ones. How many mainstream shows have had Hillary be raped to death? Isn't rape one of those things that many liberals say we can't joke about. Oh but its ok with Donald. Don't kid yourself to think that the insults directed at Trump aren't just as bad as those towards Hillary.

I am aware you didn't ask for my advice, but I figured even you could garner insight from some of my brilliance! The only reason I even posted in reply to you was that you were defending someone making fun of Trumps skin color. Notice that I said I would give you the benefit of the doubt, and I was right to do so. If you think its ok to make fun of any of these things regardless of color, I am right there with you.

What am I "on about"?

Out of nowhere, and in disruption of our very peaceful arrangement to simply ignore each other, you take a general comment I make personally, and then start chattering to me about what "chances" you're going to give me (???) to amend or take something back I said? And then act innocent and naive when you get called on that crap. Please.

Who cares what your'e tired of? You think others aren't tired of hearing the codewords that you and other cons use? You're not tired of anything, you're taking an opportunity to make a specious irrational comparison between addressing a long-standing issue in our society and a few jokes about Trump's penchant for spray tans. Utterly hypocritical.

Someone has called for Trump to be raped to death? New one on me, and I stay pretty well-informed in these areas. I'll make a friendly wager with you though. Go look at the main screen here at ATS, pick a Hillary thread, and find out how many times you hear the normal 4-letter and 5-letter gross and coarse "names" for women, how many times her name is altered (supposedly against T&C), how many times she's called a witch, fat, etc. and even worse, calls for her death. And then go to a Trump thread and count skin, hair and (apparently according to you) threats of death by rape.

You'll see the difference if you look for it.

I've stated very clearly that I don't do any of these things you want me to hold me responsible for. I'm not responsible for what others do, and to speak plainly, it's utterly absurd for you to take a comment not directed at you and let your "brilliance" whisper in your ear that it's about you.

It's not. I've been ignoring your posts for months, as I hoped you were ignoring mine. There's no reason for us to try to communicate.

In the future, you take care of the boards in your eyes, and I'll take care of the dust motes in mine.

We should hang out. Maybe we could go shooting sometime, or maybe do some volunteer border patrolling or something.

What are you talking about? They did destroy the republic. The republic of today is NOT the republic of 1850...

Do you think that a state could even conceive of the idea of seceding? We are looked at as a single nation as opposed to the conglomerate of nations that we were formed as.

The republic and much of the liberties that at one point had us as the greatest nation on earth is and has been destroyed.

The trick is getting a semblance of that old republic back.

Too true.

In our latest copkilling crisis, The Resident spoke from the White Hut in Washington, about how the real solution would be a national police force.

Of course, to make that work, you'd need standardized laws.

The Feds made my state (Texas) drop its laws that forbade usury in the 1970s (any interest above 12% annulled the whole debt!)

The Feds also complain because Texas fingerprint evidentiary rules are more strict that the federal ones. And they hate the fact that Texas does not recognize New York-style "degrees of murder". They will always say that Texas "capital murder" is "the equivalent of first degree murder."

Which of course it isn't. Texas has the death penalty written into the frickin name of the crime. "Capital" means you can be put to death for the crime if a jury sentences you that way. New York and the states that copy it have degrees of murder--none of which may be punishable by death, depending on the latest ruling.

Texas titled the crime of capital murder so that every jurist would realize that a guilty sentence exposed the defendant to the noose. Or the chair. or the gurney--whatever the feds say we can use this week.

But they'd love for us to have a national police force. And national legal codes.

All in the name of free trade.

Finally found this...

actually they didn't. If it's destroyed, as you claim, it's because of citizens not giving enough of a damn to stop 'em.

Frankly it gets only slightly less than irksome when people foist off onto some scapegoat, or nebulous unknown other, that fault that rests in our hands.

If the Republic is destroyed, or altered beyond all recognition, stop blaming the "other" and look in a blasted mirror. We all, every f'n one of us, come in for a share of the blame. Until we come to accept that, we're screwed, because nothing will ever change, save for the worse.
