Gotta do something to try to get people to watch his show.

Did anyone see Eric Andre on stage with Alex Jones outside the convention - that was pretty weird.

I don't think he needs to worry about people watching his show, lol

He got a pretty large loyal viewership

I have not had cable for the past few years, so Im sort of ignorant on television shows, commercials and the like I guess...however, I used to watch the Colbert Report and became a tiny bit obsessed with Stephen.

This hijacking is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Where are the other dry humor Colbert freak/lovers, are there any on this board?

It takes a special kind of personality to appreciate his humor to the fullest. Its very rare.

Is he married? If not would he like a younger-ish wife? Lol. He's totally the man.

I've never heard anything but how bad the Late Show is doing.

Loved him on The Colbert Report - turns out the character he was playing while trying to be offensive was actually much more likable than his real self.

He's still behind Kimmel, Fallon, and Seth Meyers in the late night ratings. But if you consider 4th place a success, whatever.

I knew it would probably fail bc probably more than half of the viewership of these late shows is republican, which he made fun of for the past 10 years.

I live in a very deep red state and everyone was bashing him around me and I just laughed a little.

I don't think he's failed with The Late Show. I watch his show much more than I watch any of the others.

It's just taken a little time to find his "groove" so to speak, and to figure out how to blend politics with late night entertainment.

I think it's failing bc now he's following all the pc rules, pushing the narrative given to him, and trying to be a funny guy catering to a group of people who you have to walk on egg shells not to offend.

When he was Colbert Report Colbert he wasn't held back by any of these things. He could say whatever he wanted and then give the camera a little glance and everyone knew it was tongue and cheek.

No, he had a loyal left wing audience on the CR and a network of left wingers to back him up. Now he has to play to a bigger audience and he simply cannot.

I loved the Colbert report (and Daily Show). They both are retired now (technically the daily show still is a thing..that nobody watches now).

Bush years were the best for the two.

remember when Colbert was invited to speak at one of Bushs' dinners?

clearly someone on the bush team just thought, oh, a political figure who admires the republicans (his character makes fun of them as he is one), lets call him, lofl, omg
