Pretty poorly executed coup, which makes me wonder what was really the plan behind attempting something like that in the first place. This coup was basically destined to fail before it began.

Or something terrible went wrong with their coup's plan and turkish military isn't as strong as we thought it was, or it was all planned by DOG...

If it was known what was coming and he had a heads up then it could have foiled the plan .That is why watching the waters for the next few weeks will be crucial to knowing for sure . If Turkey is really turning towards Russia and the Asian Silk road then it could go against the west in that sense .Them reinstating the death penalty is not going to go over well in joining the EU but then again they have been on a leash for quite some time now . He may be throwing in the towel as far as the west goes with Brexit and all that hasn't happened in Syria . He will need Gas from somewhere and it doesn't look like it will be Saudi or Quatarie .

Turkey is now on the verge of civil war, thanks to the EU and its pro-EU policyy.

The referendum victory of Erdogan and recent German provocations against the Turkish government still indicates how the EU is delusional in thinking that Turkey will ever be integrated into the EU in order to recruit Turkish youth as bodyguards / parallel army at the service of the oligarchs.
