You’re being naïve there not going to support a coup against a fellow NATO member.

Turkey isn't rightly a member, they're primarily a Muslim nation and... Muslim nations can't really belong to NATO or the EU.

Because Islam is supposed to be the enemy.

Shhh... unless you're Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Turkey, etc.

Like Nazi Germany used proxy nations to do their dirty work and then betrayed them, too.

NATO was formed for the purpose of defending Europe against Russia, so Turkey fits into that well enough, was a member from the early stages.
But the culture of the EU is really western Europe. Even Greece fits into it badly (I've done a thread on this in the past), so yes, bringing in Turkey is even more dubious.

All this doesn’t matter they can’t support a coup against a member state.

It’s not a question of what's right or wrong

These swine (western leaders) don’t live by what’s right or wrong.

They live by what's expedient to their slavery to the elite masters who rule them and order them to f___ us in the ass without grease

Lol at all this mewling about "democracy." Who actually thinks democracy works, especially in the case of Turkey run by a guy like Erdogan? It's pretty obvious real change only comes through violence, in which case kudos to the Turkish military. Too bad westerners are too docile and cowed to attempt anything similar.

Best case scenario the genocidal freak Erdogan gets smacked into oblivion and the Kurds gain something from this.

Clever Erdogan, I believe you are right OP. The coup was allowed to fester to draw all the soldiers who don't support him in to the open. Now he can cleanly execute them all with the approval of the NATO powers and further consolidate his power. Don't forget Turkey gets billions in foreign aid (mostly military) from the US and NATO countries. He has to play their game which apparently includes clandestine support for ISIL as well as serving as the far eastern nation encircling Russia with a ring of missile bases. I wonder just how much of the foreign aid given to Turkey is being funneled to ISIS? Quite a lot I should imagine.

ETA: Turkey is a democracy until it comes to the Kurds.

They did in the past.
The 3rd military coup in 1980 had support by NATO/the U.S. under Jimmy Carter.

Because of their 'geo political' strategic position. I.E., the Turkish Straits, Baltic States and the Black Sea. But like the low member on the totem pole, they are tolerated, not embraced. Their continuing denied membership in the EU exemplifies that.

The military is not the government.
NATO has no standing army.
The EU has no standing army.
NATO and the EU are not the same thing.

At what point are you going to stop making false claims? Its getting old.

If the military is the government, how can a military coup overthrow the government, as was attempted in Turkey?

Oh okay, we'll go back to the main stream mantras, "Non NATO countries must go."

Turks aren't stupid, they are aware their government is little more than a tool of NATO, used to attack neighboring countries covertly and unjustly without a declaration of war. Who would know that better than the military?

And let's not forget his prophecy about bombing Brussels that came true, nor his totally-not-staged saving of a suicidal man, nor his leaked false flag plan for Syria:

Oh, Hitler was elected by the german people too. And other dictators were elected first by their people too. They promise something, and if they are in power, they show their real face.

A profound point, dear sir.

The Kurds are not his "countrymen";

Why the very definition of "countrymen" is an inhabitant of one's own country so indeed, they are.
