Thing is....a lot of people still support Erdogan, Patriotism is relative...

Yeah i know, a lot of people voted "Remain" where i live, but "Brexit" won. Go figure. I only have one contact in Turkey, far away from Ankara or Istanbul (work colleague) so am probably biased to his opinion, hopefully the people will decide or be given the chance to decide going forward

Or...maybe he should have spent less time helping ISIS and indirectly funding them, and more time taking control in his own country.

Amen,to bad our military didn't have the balls to do the same

Obama removed all the leadership and put in yes men.

BBC News are saying that it seems to have been a fraction of the Military that have attempted unsuccessfully to take power according to the Turkish government.

Sky reporting Turkish TV saying a new constitution being prepared by the military, plus they will restore secularism and the institutions of democracy back into Turkish society

Wow, Fox News showing armed forces blocking off a bridge on one side and a major traffic jam on another. Are people trying to flee?

You ever tried crossing the Bosporus? its one constant traffic jam on a normal day, done it once for business in a taxi, never again

So they're not trying to flee, then?

Well, if he's out of the picture, then no, he does not have access to them, the highest ranking military officers probably have the access. Those military officers who are probably behind this coup.

So, no need to be scared

Probably, but i can guarantee its quicker to walk or swim, this is a place where you have traders walking the highway selling stuff to drivers on a "Normal" day as the traffic is so slow, here in the UK, if you stood in the middle of the M1 with a stall selling stuff you would be pretty much dead, as in traffic hitting you

They are American nuclear weapons kept in an American bunker on an American military base. Or were. Nobody knows if they're still there.

Tactical nuclear weapons for a war that never happened with the USSR.

How would that help him? They would not be pointing in any direction which would affect the local issue.

Wow... I feel bad for all the people caught in the chaos. Whether this is good or bad, I still feel for them. They must be very confused and frightened.
