The 70's were AWESOME. The Midnight Special came on right after Monty Python. That's a good night for a kid. The thing about the MS was that anyone could be one it.... if you were good. R&B, pop, country, funk, rock, anyone. EVERYONE wanted to be on it.From '72-'81. If they were performing at the time, they were on the MS.

Why this? I saw an infomercial this week about it. Took me WAY back. I don't often get sold. The last was Chunky Pub soups. They're good. I'm all in on this one though. Good times and good music.

Never knew about the show (probably had to get up to early to work) but I immediately thought of the song by one of my favorite bands

That song actually predates the show. Bet CCR played it on there though.

These shows are available on DVD, from Time-Life, I think.

I would love to have them... hmmmm

I was born in the mid 70's so by the time I was really "conscious" the 70's were over and done. I vaguely remember this show, however.

I know. I didn't put the ad in here as it could be construed as advertising. It's the ad I saw. The set looks amazing. Beat Don Kirshner's by a mile imo.
