Two hours now it's been slow-loading here at ATS.

It's very frustrating as I'm trying to follow that idiot Trump's selection of the nobody, Pence, as his VP.

PP timing!

The site is not currently under DDoS attack.

It's just very slow. Usual ping time is about 70 milliseconds, today it's 3,000 milliseconds.

Something is up, but for now the site is responding correctly (albeit very slow).

Load time on mobile non-wifi is measured in years lately. Wifi, no issues for me at all.

The response time comes from sites which enables server testing.

I find the site sluggish but to be fair both my wifi and my phone are almost awol.

Using online site testing gives me a more objective view on the response time (around 3,000 ms shows for today, compared to the usual 70 ms).

Still, 3,000 ms is pretty slow - something is definitely up.

Honestly I'm wholly confused about it. When I'm on 4G or 5G, I have to hit a link three or four times before it does anything. Like hit the link, wait. Hit, wait. Hit, wait. Then bam, it loads instantly. Every. Single. Time.

I don't think its an ddos.
I bets its some adds that take to long and causing this.
using an adblocker won't help to load faster.
I guess its a new code that is trying to circumvent the addblockers.

now and than I still get that annoying app add going thru my mobile browser that has an option to block adds.
.

the new big fat ocean internet cable is the real culprit and not the adds in my opinion.
to get it all connected and working as should be will take some time I think.

There is no new code, ads could not possibly raise the latency of access to a website beyond reasonable amounts.

ISP's are interjecting ads into most of their customers browsing though these days.

Thats just due to the way mobile internet works. It can take some time for the phone to find the server, but once it "links" to it, the speed is very high.

You could try running a virus scan on your phone/tablet. Also run diagnostics on your phone and delete all the junk files that clock up your phone.

WTF is the deal with the S L O W ? !

Every other website is like lightning. I come here and I could grow corn waiting for pages to load.

I cleared everything and rebooted. More S L O W .

According to this Site Response Checker Tool, ATS is back to its normal response time (68 ms).

I still find the 3,000 ms peak of yesterday suspicious, though.

Service Status History
Date Time Ping Time Date Time Ping Time
11.Jul.2016 04:34 73.99 ms. 11.Jul.2016 12:04 68.54 ms.
11.Jul.2016 14:29 71.49 ms. 12.Jul.2016 00:12 69.65 ms.
13.Jul.2016 08:30 75.67 ms. 13.Jul.2016 13:30 68.63 ms.
14.Jul.2016 02:32 68.03 ms. 14.Jul.2016 18:01 3072.9 ms.
15.Jul.2016 06:28 69.89 ms. 15.Jul.2016 10:18 68.47 ms.

(Emphasis mine)

So, why do you think this is the only site I have trouble with over several different browsers?

I am as puzzled as you are.

Navigating ATS isn't easy for me either.

Whoah! ATS just sped up for me! Now everything is loading fine, almost no delay.

What the heck?!
