I can hear it now: I just took a Trump in my Pence.

So will it be four years or eight listening to that?

Trump is going cheap on us, he's really pinching pennies.... pence is a plural form of penny!

Looks like it's official now. Actual announcement is tomorrow, but he's made the offer and Pence accepted.

Personally, I was hoping for a bolder choice, like Newt.

But, so much has happened since the election started. Nov is a LONG LONG way off....

Time to change the title of this thread by removing the "all but".

Trump lost it then.

Hes deliberately blew it for his Clinton friends.

I was warming to Trump and starting to think he may be ok.

Now he hired a neocon......

I'm thankful we won't have to hear all of Newt's personal life mistakes brought up again. We'll see if Pence has any serious "issues" yet to be uncovered. None could possibly be a bad as what Hillary has, however.

The fact he was in favor of the Iraq war and a George W Bush arse licker is a serious issue.

There more people in the USA than Pence, Hillary and Obama.

Trump has over 300 million people to pick from! surely he could of picked someone not a Neocon or a socialist?

I like hearing from some of you the same thing you said in August 2015. Then December 2015. Then February 2016...then it was Super Tuesday...then it was May....then it was ....well, here we are. He made it.

Up in the polls in key states and overall Hill is tanking just like 2008.

Time for mucho

That Trump is an idiot who is just playing on the fear and hate of many?

Ya I don't have any issue saying that over and over again.

Party politics. In order to get the conservative wing of America behind Trump (a group that was largely content to stay home this election) he had to give them a pound of flesh. I think there were better choices along those lines than Pence though.

Apparently even Trump wasn't to happy with the Pense choice.....

Lol! Trump reportedly asked officials last night if he could 'get out of' his choice for VP and was told no.
This is very tell-tale in terms of his decision making.

Looks like CNN and NBC wanted some attention. His campaign said it is bs.

Well of course they are going to say that, not saying that it wasn't but we wouldn't get the truth from them if it was.
His base seemed to have mix reactions about it so I wouldn't put it past him to think it.

But I also think that if he wanted to do it, it would of happened.

My thoughts to. He would have taken who he wanted and I think the decision was made awhile ago.

I am a little torn. It does not change my mind on who I am backing but out of the ones who were not mainstream I liked Joni Enrst. If Trump would have taken a female or minority I think it would have continued to hammer him through the campaign.

I think the GOP gave him a few choices and this was the one. I wonder what Newt will be doing though since he was suspended from Fox.

Wow, what a stupid idea that was. Pence would probably love it. The guy is a NeoCon Zealot. He's a Koch Bros. puppet. Anti-Gay, Pro-Life, yet also Pro-War go figure. He's also Pro-TPP and Free Trade Globalist too.

But, he has no power, and Trump certainly wouldn't give him any room to pursue those agendas. It's just to silence the die-hards and ensure they get on board.

While some think he should pick a minority, etc., doing so won't help him, and he knows it. Can pretty much already kiss those majority votes goodbye, so why pretend to be something he's not?

He's ALWAYS said he would pick an insider and pretty conservative GOP VP candidate...so it really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who was listening. Trump is very anti-TPP, so really doesn't matter.

Well if you consider both the DNC and GOP hate Trump. the first time he screws up they can impeach him with ease and with bi-partisan support. And in goes Pence. That is the price Trump would pay in office if he tries to buck his GOP masters.

I think that will take about an hour.
