An ecological niche doesn't maintain homeostasis. An organisms body temperature, the PH of extra cellular fluids... Sure. But an ecological niche... No.

Exactly. That's why in North America we see foxes ranging from the red fox inhabiting temperate zones, the kit fox inhabiting deserts and the arctic fox thriving in the great white north and all diverted from and earlier fox species that crossed into the Americas from N. East Asia.

Exactly. Or its taught down from generations when and/or where to migrate during the seasons.

But over long periods of times the earth goes through cycles in which each season gets more and more harsh than the year before. And/or less and less over the years.

I'm talking environmental wise where of which a species can effectively reproduce.

Humans have been using "tools," ever sense the first porto-human used a stick to pry back some bark to get at a protein source behind it.

Technological evolution is as big a part of human evolution as our desire to "hunt."
