I can remember that far back, and murder was still illegal back then.

You want to place the KKK on a government watch list?

Knock yourself out.

PETA also has caused damage by destroying animal testing places. We going to criminalize them also?

BLM, KKK, PETA. . . . . . who's next?

I haven't seen any activity from them. BLM has more reason to be considered one than the KKK. Look at the current affairs of the States.

How so?? unless yelling and being obnoxious at times counts as terrorism, and when I said quite don't take it for granted that they the KKK are asleep, their membership is growing.

KKK? Because that was years and years ago and times have changed,: they don't set out to kill anymore. Perhaps you should look to a real hate group like the Black Panthers etc. if you want to place a 2016 label!

Again the NBPP is a hate group I have no issue with slapping them with that label, but as of to date that Org have not killed a single person, will correct or amend my position when and if they do.

Yeah. Freedom of expression.
You'll get used to it after a few years here. Or not. It's like guns.

FBI's warning of white supremacists infiltrating law enforcement nearly forgotten

Several key events preceded the report. A federal court found that members of a Los Angeles sheriffs department formed a Neo Nazi gang and habitually terrorized the black community. Later, the Chicago police department fired Jon Burge, a detective with reputed ties to the Ku Klux Klan, after discovering he tortured over 100 black male suspects. Thereafter, the Mayor of Cleveland discovered that many of the city police locker rooms were infested with “White Power” graffiti. Years later, a Texas sheriff department discovered that two of its deputies were recruiters for the Klan. In near prophetic fashion, after the FBI’s warning, white supremacy extremism in the U.S. increased, exponentially. From 2008 to 2014, the number of white supremacist groups, reportedly, grew from 149 to nearly a thousand, with no apparent abatement in their infiltration of law enforcement. This year, alone, at least seven San Francisco law enforcement officers were suspended after an investigation revealed they exchanged numerous “White Power” communications laden with remarks about “lynching African-Americans and burning crosses.” Three reputed Klan members that served as correction officers were arrested for conspiring to murder a black inmate. At least four Fort Lauderdale police officers were fired after an investigation found that the officers fantasized about killing black suspects.

Here is what being quite contains, not putting on a hood and stringing up random people you don't like, instead put on blue with legal authority and protection of the state.

This I didn't know, I had always had the assumption that they were, until I came across a petition to have the U.S government formally recognizing them as such, I am usually pretty ok on stuff like this but some how it flew over my head.

Recognize the Klu Klux Klan as a domestic terrorist organization & make their eradication a Homeland Security priority. Created by C.M. on June 29, 2015
petitions.whitehouse.gov... y-priority

This with all the calling for Black Lives Matter people or org, to be labeled a terrorist org, when as far as I know they have not done anything beyond being obnoxious at their extreme, but an Org that killed.

The Tuskegee Institute has recorded 3,446 blacks and 1,297 whites being lynched between 1882 and 1968, with the annual peak occurring in the 1890s, at a time of economic stress in the South and political suppression of blacks.A five-year study published in 2015 by the Equal Justice Initiative found that nearly 3,959 black men, women, and children were lynched in the twelve Southern states between 1877 and 1950.

The 911 attacks that caused us to go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan with the initial death of 2,996 people, and 6000 wounded which in turn saw the rise of ISIS and our involvement in places like Syria, in no way warrant the official term terrorist org??

TBH I don't really care , I already have my low opinion of them, due to their history but I was just surprised at my ignorance.
The same reason gangs aren't labeled terrorist organizations

But gangs are not political orgs, effecting political change through violence and intimidation although they can morph in that, example narco terrorist.

Because they're widely, if not officially, recognized--elements are anyway--as a criminal organization...at least I think they are. Certainly law enforcement has no great love for them, especially at the federal level. They've been so infiltrated by the FBI that they're generally helpless.

Seriously, does it take some bolt from on-high saying "They are terrorists." for people to figure it out.

God people...

KKK lynches blacks, and other minorities. They use fear and intimidation to attempt to get their way. They are, by their actions, the very essence of terrorists. Their actions have defined them for well over a century. Criminals, and terrorists.

There. KKK are now terrorists.

I agree it most certainly should be categorized as a potential terror organization, though I am not in the US if I was to put myself into the shoes of someone in the US I would say that the oath to defend against all enemy's foreign and domestic would definitely include the KKK, they are not alone however as of course the Black Panther's are just as hateful and extreme.

In the UK we would either ban the group outright or label it an Extremist Organisation and the same for the Panther's.

These people are not patriot's, they actually promote race war and division in society which bring's up the old saying from the bible "A house divided can not stand" and with that in mind the US oath of All Enemy's foreign and Domestic must be applied to both of these and all similar group's (the US Nazi party jump's to mind).

I think it's more than just legal niceties here, I doubt that terrorist org, so officially named, can legally adopt part of a highway which is then used to promote their brand and used as a recruitment tool as if the were Shriners or something.
