Undelivered

The trumpets sound in concession,
Each man delivers his own confession.
On their knees, they profess to me,
Thinking this will set them free.

As tears fall from their begging eyes,
They speak the truth, mixed with lies,
And expect to be given absolution,
As though they've made their restitution,

But I'm not the one who can give them this,
I can't fill the void, the emptiness.
I can't deliver them, or save their soul,
Take their pain, or make them whole.

Forgiveness..
Can be only granted by them,
To find it they must look within.

Wrote this one some time ago..I don't remember if I posted it or not...thought I would now...

Truth, so few people take time to hammer out their own dents, and instead try to bang their dents into others hoping that in doing so their dents become smoothed out in the process. Entering smooth each time between those invisible walls can make some wary of who may be trying to park it next to them.

I just looked through all my poems..unless it is buried within one of the groups of poems.. I only post here..so, maybe it is buried in one of those..I have a ton i don't post..cuz, well..I don't know if they are against T&C... I have a wordpress site.. but all of them are password protected on it...so, I'm sure you saw it here..

I'm glad you find some truth in it and thank you for reading and taking the time to comment.
