1. There is no true answer? Can black holes travel through space as an entity i.e. have a group velocity?

2. LOL don't know, but it sounds interesting. Reminds me of Einstein comparison of the telephone and cats : P

3. False? Is this answer theorized?

4. Super and nova? Does the creation of a black-hole qualify as a type of nova?

5. Center? Theorized center? I would have to say a black-hole.

6. li, so, gas, plasma, sub-atomic particles create their own states?

7. Photosyn. Water + Sunlight + sugar? or some type of carb? = energy

8. if you know the conversion of feet to meters vice vers. its easy from there, I dont off the top of my head : P

9. regular matter?

10. don't know upper and lower?

11. Tech. I know this one : P

12. Osmium, Marsium,Tellurium, Kizrium, Lekium. I think those are right.

13. I'll take a life line : P

14. All?

15. what do you mean by equal? i'm going to say false.

16. The moon?

17. 1

18. Quantum mechanics is crazy lol It would probably say something around the lines of it being a reality.

19. dont know

20. e = -mc^2 : P

zero point i believe has to due with the rest state of particles.

I see that I have'nt made it clear which test is currently being done, so I will repost it.

1.) What is the equation of photosynthesis.
2.) Name five components of an animal cell.
3.) Name the planets within the solar system that do not have natural satelites.
4.) A DNA molecule consists of two strands of ______, twisted together to form a double-helix.
5.) Name two types of proteins, (Based on size and shape).
6.) Name three parts of a plant, (i.e. stem).
7.) State the full biological classification of humans, (i.e. Kingdom, phylum, Class etc.).
8.) Name, in order the biological classification series, (i.e. kingdom, phylum.).
9.)What two languages are used in the scientific naming of species.
10.) Define the following:
-Phylogeny
-Taxonomy
-Isotope
-Sublimation
-Osmosis

This is the current test.

I've been meaning to update this thread for awhile, and considering that it's been
two years, I figure I should do so.

I've created a new test, so just ignore the test I posted above this post way back when.

Oh, and remember, no Googling or Wikiing or general looking it up.

4. What type of matter makes up the visible 'normal' Universe?
5. Who was the first person to study Saturn's rings?
6. What is a W.I.M.P?
7. What is the largest thing in our Solar System?
8. What is the name of the worlds newest particle accelerator?
9. What percent of the Human body is H20?
10. What is DNA comprised of?

uh im no science wiz, actually i stoped taking science in grade 11 (to much work for me, very interesting though) anyway my question was (excuse me if this sounds stupid) if there is only energy and matter what category does fire fall into?

edit: Another thing, does anyone have an estimate of the time it will take our technology to let us be able to travel at light speed?

Fire, if I'm not mistaken is technically a kind of Plasma, which is the fourth state of matter.

Short answer, never.
We can not travel at or faster than the speed of light, there are however loopholes that allow
us to get around it without actually traveling faster than light.

oh thanks for the info, it would have been cool to travel at the speed of light though, but how will we ever get to other solar systems? wormholes?

Wormholes are one of the theoretical possibilities for relatively fast interstellar travel,
Hyperdrives and space warping are also possibilities.

You don't have to travel faster than light to get to another Solar System either,
it just takes longer, for instance, if you got your ship going to 99% the speed of light,
it would take a little over 4 years to reach the nearest star, though it would be
considerably less time aboard the ship due to time dilation.

What?

The faster you go, the more the effects of Time dilation become noticeable.

Even though four years will have passed for the observer, and indeed the ship will have
been traveling for four years, time aboard the ship itself would be going at a much
slower rate, so much so that a four year trip would only be a few months or less
aboard the ship if you were going fast enough.
