It holds 12 magazines. 30x12 is 360 Even if you add a little extra like waist, hip or leg pouches you could up it to around 500 or so. There were early reports of 50-100 rounds so he would be getting tight on ammo after what, 6 hours now?

A man, in good physical shape, can carry a crapload of ammunition. ...and from the accounts, sporadic as they are, it seems it wasn't a constant gun battle...though I could be badly mistaken.

Ten to fifteen 30 rd magazines aren't extra ordinarily heavy, and will enable you to shoot a good long while with proper training, and there's evidence that this asshole knows his stuff. Unfortunately.

I'm starting to believe this was a full-auto assault rifle. You have to really be slinging rounds to produce that many sparks. That and full-auto bursts can clearly be heard in other videos.
