It's pointless to say 'get rid of the guns' when guns are being obtained illegally. That like saying 'get rid of drugs' when you have no clue how people are getting drugs.

The fact that guns are so easy to obtain legally, means obtaining them illegally is also easier.

When you feel you need to own a gun just to feel safe in your own country then you should know there is a huge problem.

The United States doesn't have to be a cookie cutter copy of wherever you live at. i have got to wonder exactly what people like you gain by trying to force gun control on Americans...

Just to add my 2 cents here. The problem with today's gun control is that it's going down the same path that Prohibition went down in the 1920s. It's doomed to fail just like Prohibition did. Marijuana breaking free of it's restraints as well.
What people want they eventually get. It's just that Liberals and Progressives just don't get it.

And yes, Prohibition was a Progressive initiative of it's day.

The reality is that in the vast majority of cases when a cop shoots Pookie, Pookie deserved it. You probably can't list five shootings in the past 20 years where a cop walks after blatantly shooting a black guy who clearly was innocent and not involved in some sort of resisting arrest.
