The Rose Story

There was a rose bush from ancients past that bore the most beautiful flowers. They were exquisite in every way, perfection at its finest. The colors of her blooms were rich, yet soft and subtle, the petals were silky smooth to the touch, and the sweet, aromatic scent of her buds were a delight to the noses of all who passed by.

Many would come to pluck the flowers from her, taking the beauty that she so proudly adorned and leaving her without any color at all for others to gaze upon. After many, many years of this happening, the rose became frustrated. She worked so hard to make sure every bloom was just right, yet it only took moments for people to come and strip them away from her.

For a few years, she refused to show her blooms, hoping that people would stop coming to take her flowers. But it was hard for her to do so, as it is in her nature to share the beauty she had within. Soon, the negative thoughts and pent up feelings changed her outward appearance, thorns began to grow on her stem. When people came to pluck the few flowers that she was unable to stop from growing..the thorns would bite at their skin, piercing their flesh and causing them to cry out in pain.

After awhile, people stopped coming to take her flowers from her. Instead of relishing in her beauty, they would call her a weed and go out of their way to avoid her. This made the rose very sad and lonely. She wanted people to see her beauty, she just didn't want them to take it from her.

So, she started to display her colors again. To show how beautiful she really was. And people started to come to see her again. But they were much more cautious, not wanting to get hurt by her thorns. And eventually, after many years, they learned to love the rose bush again for her beauty. Learning not to fear her thorns.. but to accept them as part of what made her beautiful.

Just some creative writing practice..
