civilisaton started in Iran, unfortunatley it hasn't evolved there since

uh persia was long after babylon and more to the east

This is amusing to say the least. Iran does not have any nukes.

I think it is just a case of trying to save face. America has been told in nice ways to back off by Europe and Russia.

The administrations opinion on percieved threats has become some what a joke to the international community.
If military action does take place which I doubt very much, expect massive repercussions. I see no military support from other countries except maybe Israel. I see massive casualties on the invading armies and I see massive sanctions put upon the US.

On the whole I would say it would be a very bad move.

You heard of Elimites to the south of Persia? How about the Acadians or the Urartians? Susa was constructed at 3900 BC in Persia and it still stands. You heard of the Burnt city in Iran? Constucted 5000 years ago and is considered the most advance civilization of it time.
