Scott Cunningham, Silver Ravenwolf, and Raymond Buckland have all written spell books on a wide variety of magical topics.

Learn from witches, not books.

Makings, spells and charms are best learned first hand under tutelage.

Real witches will never reveal themselves though, so good luck.

Try The Pigeons....
First You Feed Them.... For A Month... Then You Stand In Front Of A Witch. If... when you make the "grand hail sign"... the pigeons come... then you found a witch.

The next step is to stay out of her way! For the pigeons will keep her out of yours...

That spell is fruitful....

You get back what you "dish" out...

And just a side-note, Penczak specializes in gay and trans lore in regards to witchcraft. He's an amazing witch, actually.

"Silver Ravenwolf".... LoL .. The name is so corny that it wouldn't even be seen in a harry potter book.

Then read 'Spirit Allies' by Christopher Penczak. This has been a teacher for decades, his books are among the best. Spirit Allies is in my top ten books I very highly recommend it.

Things have changed a lot over the years.

Best advice, find the older books like Buckie's big blue (buckland), Starhawk, and Cunningham. Learn the history and meaning. (Warning: if you're male, the old books of the 60s 70s and 80s are extremely female centric)

Once you have the beginning thoughts, meaning, and history of Wicca, then move to the new stuff. Pay attention to the "other books by" page. If the author has a dozen books on a dozen subjects, best to skip it. I'm thinking of one author in particular, but won't say the name out of respect.

Last bit of advice. Read, read, and read some more. I've studied for over 20 years. In that time you learn to take what the majority agree on and toss the rest, especially if it agrees with the elders.

Magic is a tool. It follows rules. You can't just throw stuff in a cauldron and expect it to work.
