That would be a Thunder Head or Cumulonimbus Cloud

Quite common in areas with thunder storms.

Yes if the sunlight hit's it just right.

Use Google Images and type in Thunder Head or Cumulonimbus and take a look at the many images there are. They can be quite beautiful:



We get them here where I live and are fun to watch them form (grow upwards and then top out like that).

It moves rather fast to keep its shape. I think it's a cloud craft. Russian, perhaps?

Nice cloud. I don't think it is CGI. It is rare to see them shaped in rings like that, at least around here it is. But I have seen a couple like that, maybe not so pronounced though. I wonder why they form like that. The rope looking ones that look like rows of a garden look cool too.

There have been a real lot of odd looking clouds over the last nine or ten years.
