Well this is certainly bizarre...

A Lithuanian entrepeneur has opened up an amusement park with a Soviet theme.

The facility—part amusement park, part open air museum—is circled by barbed wire and guard towers, and dotted with some 65 bronze and granite statues of former Soviet leaders Vladimir Lenin and Josef Stalin, and assorted communist VIPs.

I can just see the dissidents flocking to Lithuania to relive their happy gulag memories and renew old friendships. (Ivan, look at you! How you have gained weight!!)

Somehow I don't think this place will experience the long lineups that were a fact of life in the Soviet Union. Surely it must be as tacky as Marko Milosovech's "Bambi Park"

Bizarre? I bet the families of the millions of people who died thanks to the great Stalin would be happy.

Damn entrepenurs

Incumbent POTUS George W Bush wants his visage carved into Mt Rushmore.

Would that be cool?

I thought so too. I wanted to edit the post but I was afraid it would screw up that serendipidous alignment.

Well, put it this way. No entrepreneur is going to commemorate Bush in that way, so he will have to do it for himself.

What exactly was your contribution to the topic?

Maybe the Clintons will visit Bill was real big on Stalin in his younger days and a lot of people in this country think socialisim is the way to go. But I guess that is what the EU is so it is no suprise of some kind of resurgance even a theme park.

Well lets see I stayed on topic which is more then I can say for your post. Its about a amusement park with a Soviet theme I voiced my opinion on what I thought of Stalin.

Try to stay on topic and vent your hate for Bush in some other thread

I thought you took the topic further into dictatorship with mention of glorifying Hitler.

Hitler, Bush, Stalin, not much difference in the minds of some people.

Try not to define topics by your own limited terms, and read what you will, and leave others to speak freely. If I bring Bush into the thread and you bring Hitler into the thread, so be it, same difference.

Bye bye.

I think saying whats next a Hitler Amusement park is well within the topic of this thread with a Amusement park dealing with Stalin. Notice I was talking about a Hitler Amusement park and not just some random remark about Hitler.

But saying "Incumbent POTUS George W Bush wants his visage carved into Mt Rushmore"

You could have atleast tried and said what if Bush wanted a Amusement park.

The energy committed to the hole you are digging could have already started a nostril in the new Mt Rushmore Dubyahead.

The new Dubya amusement park less than five miles away is scheduled to have these attractions:

* don a fighter pilot suit for a ride out to an aircraft carrier returning home from Iraq - get your photo taken - make the servicemen and women wait a few extra hours to rejoin families;

* food stalls featuring coc aine and deadly pretzels;

* master the lethal Segway - every rider gets a blood nose and a prize;

* role playing games - learn how to fail at everything from being an oil baron to a sports team owner to a Commander In Chief;

* the Popularity roller coaster - an undulating and twisting ride featuring the Election Theft curves, reaching a plateau before plummeting seventeen miles into the biggest bottomless pit a theme park ride has ever seen;

* Bush-arama: a 360 degree 3-D cinema with a short film on "English sentences mastered by Dubya" - duration 37 seconds;

* free entry to Stalin World in Lithuania after your third visit to Dubya World.
