Blah, blah. The US is going to try and block Russian access to the mediterranean through the straits. Sure its just one vessel for now, but thats the foot in the door.

Once established, the US will break the law anywhere it pleases for its own selfish ends, then it can add more vessels dominate the straits, bottling up the Russian fleet in the Black Sea.

Derp. All that other BS some claim is Russia aggressiveness is deflection form that simple strategic fact.

Whats the obvious you believe to be true. As for bottling up the black sea fleet really no need. They bottle up themselves Russia really doesn't have a way to supply it's ships if they stray to far. US Navy can go out for months because they can get resupplys anywhere on the globe. Russia has to limit itself to what thr ships can carry and scurry back when supplies run out. By the way the US has been sending ships into the black Sea for decades. It's been a regular rotation the reason is Turkey.

They want Turket to know there is a NATO presence in thr area. If the US wanted to bottle up thr Russians won't be done by being in the straights. They would pull up an aircraft carrier fleet in the med and destroy anything trying to go through. It would be incredibly stupid to send a fleet into the black Sea in range of aircraft when they can just set outside the area and pluck off anything that tried to leave.

Interesting... Can you please explain to us all, with reference to the straights in Turkey (Montreux Convention), how the US can violate a treaty we are not a signatory to? Or is there another treaty you are referring to?

Those countries leaders let NATO occupy their fledgling Republics, not their people. I don't recall any voting, just columns of tanks. You're right it was easy to fill the vacuum left by the disbanded Warsaw Pact.

They were under the Soviet bootheel for so long (in some cases the Wehrmacht as well), they forgot what independence was.

Again you seem clueless as to how getting into NATO works. Once you apply you have a bunch of steps that take years to complete. The include a democratic government, modernization of armed forces, lack of internal conflict, popular referendums to show that your people want to join NATO and tons of other things that take years to complete. And the you have to be approved by every member of NATO. Bosnia has not been accepted because it has not managed to gets all the militia units under one command still. Macedonia has not been accepted because Greece does not like its name. Trying to get into NATO is not easy, expensive and the smallest thing could keep you out.

And you lying about recalling columns of tanks because NATO has barely sent any forces to the Baltic states to keep Russia from being paranoid. They only started going once Russia had attack Georgia and Ukraine and started threatening the Baltic along with Finland and Sweden.

In fact it was rare for NATO troops to even go to Poland for military exercises and when they did the Russian often would join them. Being that Russia is a part of NATO's Partnership for Peace just suspended since the Ukraine invasion.

Why do they constantly invoke Russias "near abroad", a term used to describe the old Soviet Union boundaries / Warsaw pact nations. Why do Russians constantly remind people no one in history ever conquered Russia / Moscow (aside from the Mongols but they seem to just ignore that fact).

The only one living in the past is Putin.. He cannot accept the fact the USSR failed and collapsed. Putin constantly throwing a temper tantrum that no nations respect him says all thats needed to understand Putin is living in the past.

Why would they block the straights at all? It would be much easier to sink the Russian fleet in the Med where the entire thing one big NATO plus other allied lake? And when would this happen? Russia sales in and out all the time? What and why would the US stop them? And how? Unless their was a war in which case the Black Sea fleet is going to hug the shore and stay under ground based air and air defenses. If your going to toss around theories at least make sure they make some military sense.

I accept your surrender and also await the day you condemn Russia for its decade of working with NATO as a part of NATO's PfP and the Russia NATO council to surround itself. Where were you when Russian and NATO warships were stopping in each other ports, where were you when Russia had no problem with NATO expansion because they already had a special relationship with NATO? Where were you when Russia was threatening Russia by joining NATO military excises in Poland? Where were you when Russia joined BlackSeafor as a part of NATOs PfP program with Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine creating a joint reaction force for the Black Sea? Sort makes your entire NATO is out to get Russia seem kind of silly when Russia is a part of it.
