My voice is weak, because I haven't used it in so long,
I'm learning to speak, words powerful and strong.
Right now it cracks and shakes, like a mirror it breaks,
Small little pieces falling broken to the ground,
People walk on them, crunching them further down.
Such a harsh and grating, debilitating sound,
I wonder who's voice they silence when I'm not around?
I have these thoughts running through my head,
Need to be said, they have to be said,
But if no one's there when they're spoken,
What's the point then, what's the point then?
To let them fall upon deaf ears, no one hears,
What it is you're really trying to say, anyway,
All the thoughts and emotions you wish to convey.
And what is it I would say to you, it's nothing new,
You've heard it a thousand times, I have too.
But it resounds within all the hearts and minds,
Of human kind, no matter how many times,
It's spoken, something lost within the great design,
Of life and how it's measured or defined..
What is it that everyone is trying so hard to find?
