This just went up as an alert banner headline on drudge...so the story is being processed and disseminated right now.
If this is true...it could be HUGE.
Stay tuned...I'll be researching and updating as this breaking news becomes available.

DRUDGE REPORT:

edit on 28-6-2016 by IAMTAT because: (no reason given)

It appears that this initial release shows some of the inner communications in Clinton's campaign.
I'm sure more will be coming soon...

Hack Yields Clinton Campaign E-Mail, Records

JUNE 28--The broad spear phishing campaign targeting the e-mail accounts of Hillary Clinton campaign officials has yielded hackers a wide assortment of internal memos and other communications, according to documents provided to The Smoking Gun.

The attack--which investigators believe is a Russian government operation--has recently focused on the Gmail accounts of scores of Hillary for America staffers, according to SecureWorks, a research firm that published its findings earlier this month.

The firm contends that the hacking campaign has targeted “individuals managing Clinton's communications, travel, campaign finances, and advising her on policy.” The assault, which reportedly began in mid-March, relied on a spoofed Gmail log-in page in an attempt to deceive victims.

That gambit tricked at least one Clinton volunteer, Sarah Hamilton, records show. Hamilton’s Gmail account appears to have been breached in late-March and hackers copied a large swath of campaign e-mails, memos, and documents. Hamilton, former spokesperson for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, has aided the Clinton campaign’s press operation. Contacted today, Hamilton (pictured below) declined comment on the hack.

As with recent online attacks on the Democratic National Committee, TSG learned of the Hamilton hack from “Guccifer 2.0,” who claims to be a Romanian “hacktivist” and solitary “hacker with a laptop.” He has dismissed the contention of assorted security researchers that he is part of a Russian operation as a “Total fail!!!”

Oh, this should be good. All the frantic effort to cover Clinton's ass by her sycophants.

How could they possibly know that it was Russian hackers?

That makes sense when major parts of the internet are hacked because that takes lots of computers and you can pinpoint spikes in activity back to a geographical source. But just someone's e-mail account? Sounds like they're just making stuff up to associate the story with anti-Americanism or discredit it.

Interesting:

In a series of e-mails, members of the ropeline platoon reported on the movement of journalists, especially Dan Merica, a CNN producer covering the Clinton campaign.

After an advance staffer wrote to report that an aggressive French journalist was “at stage right,” the Merica tracking kicked in.

“Watch out for Dan Merica center right,” a press aide warned. Eight minutes later, an advance team member wrote, “Dan Merica stage left.” A minute later Hamilton advised colleagues, “French journos and dan merica heading to stage right.” Moments later, a new Merica update came from an advance team member: “Dan America is on backstage bleachers.” Less than a minute later, the staffer gave an update: “I’m with dan America on back stage bleachers.”

It appears Merica was being secretly tracked by campaign workers concerned that the CNN employee might detonate a question if he got too close to any of the Clintons.

The Smoking Gun

Looks like they are purposely trying to corral reporters in such a way that only those friendly to the campaign are allowed access.

The staff knows the wrong...question from the wrong reporter could be a disaster.

So they said "Watch out for that one reporter who asks the questions we dont like"

How in the holy blue hell is this different from EVERY SINGLE MAJOR POLITICAL CAMPAIGN EVER?

There could be a story that says: "Hillary steps on ant hill. Millions dead." And her haters would suddenly become ant advocates. --- I don't like Hillary either, but the blinders on some folks are going to cause a lot of accidents.

Ok, so let's never call out any shenanigans and let them do what they will because...politicians?

Come on man, these people (on both 'sides' of the political aisle) need to have their feet held to the fire.

Otherwise we might as well just roll over and let them do whatever they want whenever they want.

I imagine that once in the system...the hackers could move around anywhere at will.
There's no telling what could eventually come out of this.

Lets not play games, you might be viewing both sides on an equal footing when it comes to this. But MANY MANY will latch on and attack her for this when their candidate does the same damn things. And I dont even mean Trump, I mean every political candidate since the beginning of mankind.

Should it not be the case? Absolutely. But to just shine the spotlight on one of the MANY who do this, youre just trying to do your political parties dirty work for them.

I think Hillary's camp is deliberately leaking everything bad about her to get it out in the open NOW so that it makes the rounds and looses steam before the election.

What good is a bunch of ammo on your opponent if everyone's already beat it to death and is tried of hearing about it? You are essentially taking the air out of the balloon by being the one to control the timing and release of damaging information.

It's like choosing your battle on your terms, at the time and place of your choosing. If the information is going to eventually be found out, why not release it on your terms and mitigate the the damage caused by it?

Presuming you're using the generic "youre" and "your" rather than directing this at me specifically here.

I will admit to being focused pretty heavily on Hillary and her shady dealings of late, but that does not necessarily make me a supporter of the clown Trump.

The two parties are a large part of what is wrong in America. There are many people who do not support either group (me being one) and just want open and honest actions from those who are chosen to represent us.

I know, I'm hoping for too much considering corruption and graft are as old as human civilization.

But if we're going to pretend to follow a set of rules (you know, like maybe the consitituion?) then any who do not should be held accountable.

Otherwise, let's just let them do what they want and we do what we want while ignoring the same set of guidelines they ignore.

It's different because it shows how for all her secretive efforts it all backfired on her. None of it worked as she intended. It had the complete opposite effect because she made the mistake of denying citizens even basic information and using non secure practices. Now all her information is exposed.

I mean think about it. If you're hiding a mountain of crap, wouldn't it be better to be the one to decide how the people find out about that mountain of crap?

Controlled opposition (and I hate using buzzwords, but when it's an accurate descrption...), has been used for a long time.

It works so well.

Not only beat to death and tired of being heard of but also drowned out by future revelations due to the gnat-length attention span of most people.

For example, how many people think Fukushima is all better now? Worse yet, how many people have never even heard of it?

You present a valid point.

Makes sense the Hillary Campaign people are using unsecured emails doesn't it.

I bet they got the "word" from Hillary's top IT specialist it was OK and there's nothing to the email scandal investigations.

Looking at your post history... closing in on 90% anti hillary or pro trump threads.... It would seem that you know the hillary people better than she does. Its as if your sole mission is to try and shine a spotlight on the digital footprint youre trying to leave behind against Hillary. I just dont get who you think youre convincing of anything. Pro hillary people will in all likelihood ignore you. And the pro trump people will listen to whatever anti hillary hate is being spewed whenever wherever.

Exactly, the liberals will always turn away with their fingers in their shouting LA LA LA when someone proves Hillary to be the snake in the grass that she is.

Sounds a bit like calling hogs to the slop.

If this is true...it could be HUGE.

9/10 Clinton related OPs contain this very line.

Why? Because while the titles are big on promises and the threads get lots of flags, it never turns out to be anything. I think I've become desensitized from years of these threads.

From TSG source:

But the records are absent the kind of intel for which hackers were probably searching, like policy discussions and confidential deliberations.

So it sounds like a staffer fell victim to a phishing email which directed to a fake login. From there, the password was obtained to the account and then the hacker got the contents of the Gmail mailbox which contained... nothing juicy.

It's not like TSG is squeamish about reporting dirt. What was in the emails? Campaign staffers running around trying to keep tabs on reporters? If anything, the bit about Dan Merica seems to indicate that CNN is not anywhere nearly as friendly to Clinton as countless ATS posts would lead us to believe?

EDIT:

Am I missing something here? Except for the hype, what about this is "huge?"

Good grief!

You mean the Clinton campaign actually discusses campaign issues like logistics and dealing with the press?

That is ASTOUNDING! This changes EVERYTHING!

Perhaps Trump could take some notes.
