Yes marg but too much of the same spice all the time spoils the broth. It's time for some variety in the diet.

Anyway, I'm glad he was released. The Church has too many martyr saints as it is.

My mind is open to either possibility, really. While its possible that the C.I.A. could have done this, from what I have studied into the whole thing, the possibility is very very remote, at least with what has been reported.

The Muslim extremist terrorists are just as if not more capable, of doing this, and people are ignoring the obvious reasons. One of which is, with the upcomming election, intimidation tactics and religous tensions are at an all time high. We have seen planty of Shia get harrassed by Sunnis, and Christians have always been a small, rather oppressed minority there.

And remeber, there are quite a few Catholic countries involved with this whole affair. Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, ect.

I think the key here is to do a little background checking on this archbishop, as well as his relations with Muslims, whether he was an opponent of anything, ect. It wouldnt be out of character for Muslim extremists to kidnap an enemy as hateful to them as a very high ranking cleric of an "enemy religon".

But if checking in his background we find certain sentiments and actions that seem unlikely to make him their enemy, well..................

They didnt know who they were kidnapping, that seems pretty naive to me. Just goes to show how indiscriminate their violent acts are.

And yes, you can better when the "higher ups" (terrorists) found out, they were extremely upset. Had this man died, a huge chunk of the world would have rallied behind the US.

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - The Iraqi Catholic archbishop of Mosul who was kidnapped at gunpoint Monday was freed Tuesday and said no ransom had been paid.

Archbishop Basile Georges Casmoussa, 66, said he hoped his ordeal would not be seen as an attack on the Church in the predominantly Muslim nation.

Freed

Glad the Archbishop is ok. It is funny the Catholic Chruch demand of his release and the next day he is among the people again. I thought Catholics were not welcomed in this country, I guess if they were American, then it would be a big deal. Hatred for America is a sad way to deal with your point of view, and actions against those who were conveint for one's plot made them foolish. In the past their were those who beheaded without cause, they were trying to help the Iraqi people. They got the death penilty, what did it justify? Make me wonder too, why it worked for this Archbishop to be released, and not other people?

Oh boy....more made up claims?.... First off, what you call spon feeding I had to research in order to find it, because it is not given by any news in the US or by the US government. If anyone is being spoonfed are all the people who believe all the crap that Rense and others like him proclaim as truth.

I never "claimed" anything. If you read back carefully you will see my analysis of the kidnapping being of a speculative nature. So relax, i never claimed a damn thing. I am simply saying be cautious with the spoon fed news you receive and to swallow the red pill from time to time.

The voters in Spain changed their votes to the socialist party because of the attack in 3/11, not the other way around...

Perhaps you misread my point. Before 3/11 or the Spanish elections, the socialist party were already deemed the favorites to win the election. Once in power our administration feared the socialist intent of carrying out the obvious, pulling out of Iraq completely. I am merely speculating but our strong arm administration with their branch of secret operative terrorism (al-qaeda) carried out the attacks on 3/11 with the aftermath chaos swinging election votes towards a re-election of the incumbent. By the way, Rense who? Otherwise i agree, back to the topic.

Hey folks does this not add substance to my religion at war theory? Those dumb isolated insurgent Iraqi's were completely unaware of who are their allies in this war. To no surprise they released the allied Catholic Bishop some 24 hours later. Hey insurgents! Or i like to call them resistance fighters. Just in case you forgot the religious war comprises of the following!

USA/Britain/Israel = Christianity/Jews

VS.

France/Vatican/Palestine = Catholics/Muslims
