Darling love brought Mom and Dad a gift.
"ooh what did you bring us?'' I grabbed for my dish gloves.
Darling had a question in his eye's,
As I reached down and spoke,
"a little mouse?''
Grandma wanted a peek, and then...
We had a bat flying around the house.
Little Darling did good,
But to this day thinks a gift given...
Is going to be,
A trip to that awful place,
Where he behaves so well
The pain of shots, he is older now
Keeps it all in and doesn't tell.
Just takes off for awhile...
What can I do?
He is so grown up
And has his own style.

My Darling Will had changed after bringing home a bat that made me freak out seeing it fly through the home. I had to secretly take him to the vet because his dad is against vaccinations and even after three or so years, he doesn't even harm a bug now.
He got kept outside one night when he was little for bringing a baby bird home because we went to great lengths in keeping the baby bird alive over night to bring it to a woman who rescues baby birds and other animals the next day.
Will has lost his childhood instinct to catch things...I like to think that he has deep introspect concerning life... but sometimes in this summer time heat, he looks a bit down and it makes me want to hug him.
